I recommend looking into the "Infinite Gifts" exploit. That'll help with a lot of these achievements.

It looks like the city level achievements were updated about 3 months back. Since then no one has gotten them. Can confirm they dont appear to be working.

Is it just me or can we not fast forward in retroarch while playing this game? Other games I don't have this issue.

Nevermind, I figured out that the one fast-forwarding hotkey works, but the other does not (only does the music).

Why do so few of the scenario achievements have people who did them? You can totally half-ass them (some have special cheese, like Boston and Rio) and then let your fast-forward take you through the 5-10 years easily. Maybe I'm just biased since I'm overly familiar with the game?

@PrincessEev : It is definitely what you surmised at the end. You are just overly familiar with it. I have seen achievements that I earned on the first playthrough of older games I loved, and seeing countless people struggle with what I consider a cakewalk. It's gunna happen. Also, I think most people check out Sim City for a short bit nowadays, just wanting to re-live a bit of their childhood. I still love it, haven't even played it for RetroAchievements, yet.

My achievements menu in retroarch shows one for "Las Vegas scenario" but that's in simcity2000 isn't it? It's definitely not on my sim city rom. What gives?

Getting 30,000 people on the practice map was easy. Getting 100,000 people on such a small map is going to be hard.

So I'm going to answer my own question now that I figured it out: once u beat all other scenarios on the same SAV file - Vegas opens.

Now I just have 1 achievement left "600k" and I have no idea how I'm going to accomplish it... I refuse to cheat in any way so I've been at this for months ...

Halp... If anyone ever reads this. I'm having the worst SimCity withdrawal. I can't find a game to replace it. 2000 is too slow and clunky, NES prototype doesn't really run right. It's not finished. I need a new game. Nothing has such good replayability, clean UI, amazing music... This literally might be the best console game ever made. Any recommendations?? Please!

@smidibones it's a modern game but you want Cities Skylines. Everything Sim City SNES is but with way more control over what happens.

@ThatAmericanSlacker yeah good recommendation but it doesn't scratch the same itch for me... All the new sim games are so overly featured they limit the experience. Nothing compares to this version. I would like to see a new subset get added. I need an excuse to keep playing.
