Took a long while to master this classic, man some of those last three bosses are pretty annoying. The tarmac trouble flashing lights one is also just as more tedious and might just be on par with the first prospecter showdown challenge.

What are the requirements for Hardcore Mode to work?
Using DuckStation and whenever launching this game Hardcore Mode disables. I verified my dump, so confused what is causing this. I see no mention of it in the Official Forum Topic either.

@dreamsyntax make sure DuckStation isn't automatically loading a save state, it needs to be launching a fresh boot. That's one of the only scenarios that will force softcore to my knowledge

Mastered! Some minor annoyances with some cheevos, but an otherwise fun set for such a classic game. More than anything I was annoyed with the actual platforming sometimes rather than the set, though haha

I can't get this to work on retro achievments and everytime I open the game it immediatly says 'hardcore mode now disabled' what do I do?

Mastery #8: This is a very fond game from my childhood (grew up with the N64 version). Had a lot of fun with this set, most of the challenge achievements weren't really hard but did add a lot to the game for me. This version of the game is a little harder but I would recommend it over the others. Also reminder that this game is analog compatible if you care about that.

@FlakednBaked is Hardcore Mode on in Settings->Achievements? It should automatically disable anything not allowed by Hardcore Mode if you do that

Mastery #2! Fun game from childhood, felt great to play it again. As far as non-boss achievements go, getting that duck without touching Slinkey's island or using rocket boots was the hardest for me. Blacksmith gave me the most trouble with boss achievements on Tarmac Trouble, but oddly enough not on Prospector Showdown lmao.

Mastered! It's a beautiful classic from the PS1. Mastering it can be a bit tedious, especially on harcore, since, without save points, you have to go through the entire path to reach the bosses. The achievements that seemed the hardest to me were the airport light bulbs and the Zurk boss. I recommend paying attention to other users' comments on achievements that are difficult to complete, as they often provide great tips.

Mastery number 3, this one was challenging to say the least, Zerg and the blacksmith were particularly tricky. As a younger me I never thought one day I would do half the things listed here, but hey here we are, pretty good set.

This wasn't my first time playing this game, but I never knew anything past Andy's House. Honestly, this game has no right being as fun as it is. There are a couple of exceptions, however.

Buzz is very responsive and controls very well for a PS1-era game. It took me a while to get the timing right for ledge grabs and double jumps for some of the achievements, but it wasn't too bad.

Now with some gripes:

1st: DO NOT ATTEMPT COIN ACHIEVEMENTS UNTIL YOU UNLOCK THE ABILITIES FOR THE AREA!!! Otherwise, you're wasting your time.

2nd: The game has two very, very frustrating levels: Construction Site and Alleys and Gullies. Construction Site is just a small vertical box. If you fall, you have to climb all the way up again, unless you unlock the shortcuts. However, there's one achievement that doesn't let you use the shortcut, so guess what? You have to start all over again. Not only that, if you fail the boss fight without taking damage (luckily I didn't), you have to reset the level, causing you to climb it... all... over... again. Alleys and Gullies is similar to Construction Site; the boss is easier, but the climb is much, much worse.

3rd: Please rename the achievements. They're very bland and need more creativity than just [Insert Level] - Challenge [Number].

4th: [Tarmac Trouble - Challenge III] is a really poorly designed achievement. Having to restart the level TEN times just to complete each puzzle is frustrating and a bad design choice for an achievement because it's not hard just tedious. (FYI, don't quit if you get a repeat puzzle, just fail the puzzle and it resets. Also don't grab the token. Just quit the level when you finish the puzzle)

Overall, it's a very fun platformer. It's honestly very colorful, has great environments, and controls very smoothly. I will (probably) be revisiting on Dreamcast or N64, although it may be a while. I'm genuinely impressed with the game.

Now it's time to master Toy Story Racer!

Game so nice I had to master it thrice. Managed to beat it in just under 3 hours, so satisfying to speedrun these sets once it all clicks
