It might be possible to move the achievement, that might be easier though I don't recall having a problem. The trigger is just to tell me an achievement is valid.

If you play on RetorArch, go to: "settings >> achievements >> leaderboards", then select the "only notifications" option.

Maybe the names of these options are a little different in your interface because I use it in another language.

This doesn't stop you from unlocking speedrun achievements, the emulator continues timing your game, but is hidden. If you play on RALibRetro, I can't tell you.

Ahoy,

Can someone confirm if I need a fresh save file to complete the secrets cheevos and the extreme raider ones? Or can I hop back and get them with level select.

I ask as I see some comments saying secrets must be with a fresh save. Others suggesting Extreme Raider pops fine using existing save level select.

So good playing this old classic again. I agree with the other poster: level design is excellent. I think despite some clunk and triangular boobs this game holds up really well. Thoroughly enjoying it.

I'm really not sure now. I reset beat lv9 and it wouldn't pop on ng+. Looking at your progress I'd say it's a redundant question as you're going to need to do extreme from lv2 onwards so you might as well do them in order and rush lv1. If I had to give my answer, I'd say you need to do it NG as enemies in NG+ are stronger and you're still stuck with pistols so in a way it's easier to go NG anyway even if it means rushing through levels you've already done on extreme.

You can't use Ng+ as it gives you infinite ammo but also you don't want to as in this or tr2 Ng+ doubles enemies health.
Make a save before you beat the final level and use level select from that save.

Ahh, maybe it was the NG+ inf ammo that was making the secret achievements not pop for the person whose comments I was reading.

Iโ€™ll try level 2 from my level select now for secrets and Extreme Raider and report back.

Iโ€™ve not beaten the game yet but also not skilled enough to go ploughing in for extreme or all secrets on my current playthrough, so itโ€™s nice hopping back to more thoroughly conquer old levels when I get tired of being savaged by panthers and mummiesโ€ฆ

OK, can confirm that both Extreme Raider and Secret cheevos can be got using level select (i.e. going back to previously played levels) BEFORE completing the game and activating NG+

Finally mastered. The last two levels on Extreme Raider destroyed me mentally. I cried when I mastered the last achievement. Thanks for the set that I mastered in honor of my childhood experiences <3 Have fun to everyone who still wants to master it. You need it :)

Mastered! Extreme Raider gave me such anxiety. lol It wasn't even the enemies that mostly killed me. It was the damn falls and traps. But it's done and I did it! ^_^

I am puzzled how people mastered this game (or many other where continual progress is needed) in hardcore mode, if no save states/loads are allowed...it requires to complete it on just only one long run?! Cheats (like level skip) block cheevos when entered. What is the method, am I missing some setting or...?

You are confusing the emulator's save/load state tools with the game's natural save system. Virtually no PS1 and higher console games need to be completed in a single run due to how long the campaigns are, the game's innate save system, through Memory Card emulation, is fully permitted.

@MauricioReis OMG! Thanks, mate! So obvious... and I was thinking people use some hibernation tricks or making dumps...I found this achievements&emulators universe only recently, so still learning the things but truly amazed what this enthusiastic community did and is still doing.
