First, i've mastered this set. That said, i dunno why the dev didn't simply use the classic NLNMAS challenge as a template for the cheevos instead of adding more things like pistols-only, which makes levels like Atlantis insufferable.

Also as someone who mastered this set I can tell you that TR2 NLNMAS is much harder than TR1 extreme raider.
Regular NLNMAS would've been probably to easy for the most part, it's just the final few level that are difficult cause how long they are and 1 mistake costs you 30 minutes or so.
Pistols only doesn't make much of a difference, just look up any pistols only run videos and you'll learn how to easily cheese them.
I'm not opposed to extreme raider becoming a subset but that would probably also force every TR NLNMAS cheevo to also be made into a subset.

Id agree. I stopped at opera house a while ago and yet to go back because every enemy can shoot bullets and they are harder to dodge than the shots in tr1. It doesnt help that ive not played in several years or tried this category before but ill do it some day when im motivated again.

NLNMAS is the standard Tomb Raider challenge, isn't it? The pistols-only requirement is unique to this set. Seems like it could do without it since it doesn't add much to the run but time.

I've played this game a lot as a kid and always loved it, but I never thought about a No med run. Actually I thought you were crazy and that it was something impossible for some of the levels.

Masters are supposed to be hard I like it. It shows who’s good at the game. I have not tried extreme raider cheevos. Brutal I wouldn’t want it any other way :)

Okay, gonna go out on a leg here, because I haven't played the original TR In over 2 decades, but I don't recall It having a level select, did It? How are you supposed to do the Extreme Raider achievements without saving at all? Die and basically start the game over?

There is a level select, once you load up your save file the game will ask you if you want to continue from the most recent save point or pick any other level to play, thou two fair warnings you can loose your current level progress if you save in a earlier level, you won't loose your current level selection thou, secondly do the challenges runs before completing the final level and saving after it, in some TR games IIRC this will activate some cheats like infinite ammo which will block you from the challenges.

There should be a warning that after you finish the game, EVERY SINGLE ENEMY WILL HAVE DOUBLE THE HEALTH. It won't disable the achievements but now I have to shoot that big guy at level 15 for more than 4 minutes.

It would be nice if Extreme raider was "No Loads" instead of "No Saves". Going through the game once for CL100 and while I like the idea of taking that extra challenge on, not having any saves if you *do* fail is enough to shoo me away from trying this on later levels.

Not that it matters after your first run, but would be a nice change.
