Mastered. Even as a Tony Hawk's Pro Player since 1999 I absolutely hated it. It aged so f'n bad and the controls combined with the old physics really got on my nerves. Guess the remake makes the original even more worse than it already is. Still a great game at the core. Took me under 12 hours, idk 30 min per character? Compared to the remake where it takes me like 5 min per character, it hurts a bit :D Thanks for the set anyway, Tony Hawk's is love.

Thank you for the set. I really appreciated the flawless score achievements and the ones for 5 tapes in 1 run, it finally got me to learn how to do Streets properly and (fairly) consistently. It seems like other people don't care for those as much as I do, but personally, those were my favourites. I have to wonder why there's no achievements Officer Dick besides unlocking him (The Richard Run?), but other than that, this was fun.

ice cold take, but as someone who mostly played THPS3 and THUG1+2 growing up, I DON'T understand how to play the games that came before reverts, spine transfers were added lol

fastplant+wallride+grab with rotation = special. you don't have to get millions of points here, big air combos and sometimes rails and wallrides you can chain together, it's barebones yes but that's how it is

Never played this game before, started out with the later games during childhood. What a shame actually. Would have been dope to rock this one on original hardware back in the days. Anyways, definitely enjoyed the lurning curve to get this set done. Can't believe how much i struggled at the beginning though lmao.

What's the best strategy to get all tapes in a single run for Downhill and Streets...
Save the game before attempting? Because I always end up getting at leas the High Score tape... I would need to restart the game every time I don't get all tapes in one go?

Definitely save beforehands, yes. For Downhill, it all hinges on getting the secret tape consistently enough. The rest should be doable. I used Private Carrera for that map. Her specials and the point multiplicators should help you to get the point goals done.

For Streets, try that route ( > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxOBy5SNzlU&t=287s) using Rune Glifberg. If you nail the Christ Air while jumping down towards the secret tape, you should be able to get at least close enough to finishing the point goals. Time is still pretty rough on that map, so might take a couple attempts to get this one done.

Got no idea, if any other speed runs possibly have better routes for Streets, but can't hurt to look through those anyways.

I'd have to restart my Glifberg run in order to do it. I'm having a pretty good run with Elissa Steamer. Kind of surprising, to be honest.
I'm gonna save the game before starting the streets level and attempt to get all tapes in one go... I can see myself restarting the game over and over again. Thank God it is possible to fast foward the game on Hardcore mode

Mastered! That was so much fun! Before using retroachievements.org I called an all tapes/gold with one character a 100%. It took 2h30 instead of 25hrs with achievements. I can definitely say that I improved and mastered the game.

I... no this game drained my life force. Repeating the same thing wih 10 characters, aka no variety of achievements like doing specific gaps with specific characters and their specials, and the egregious skill ceiling for some of these was way more than I could chew. I won't ever be coming back to this set unless It's a joke stream or something because this soured this game for me unbelievably.

Mastered. I tried really hard to end my run with a counter to @MarceloAGDB 's analysis, but no, this was indeed draining. I don't blame the authors, I blame the people who made the game. With that said, I hope someone adds some variety achievements in the future.

After mastering THPS2, THPS1 was definitely the less mind numbing game. If you think THPS1 was tedious, THPS2 will be rough.

There was the "complete the game with everyone" achievements that are a bit draining, but then there's achievements that made you push yourself, like the Flawless runs and getting all 5 tapes in one run. Overall I think this set is really good.

Getting all 5 tapes in the Streets stage in one run was absolute agony. I don't know how I did it.

The game inspired me to skate in grade school. <3 Bit of a tedious set but playing through the game with every character is just par for the course in any THPS. Flawless runs and getting all the tapes in one run was a fun way to revisit this game.
