Whew - this game is a bit of a slog, but a lot more manageable on 3X speed. Very nice set that shows off most aspects of the game, without being too punishing.

@ Techiteruel - I think one of the blueprints might be at the casino, but otherwise, I don't think you have to. You can play the Lucky Panel game to earn equipment to sell, but with the advantage of frameskip on an emulator, that's an easier way to grind and make gold.

I played on casino with the softcore achievements for Lucky Panel and yikes I forgot to deactivate it, I think later I must play the first 9 islands again

Just about to get started on this set. I just wanted to preemptively thank the set devs because this set seems (relatively) extremely chill for a jrpg. Considering the length of this game, it would be a nightmare to have to do a second run for some hard achievements, like a low-level or 0 class run. Thanks for making me excited to relive a beloved old game of mine, I probably wouldn't have ever played it again otherwise.

Unfortunately, on my journey through all of the DQ games in order through Retro Achievements, this one has been the worst go of it so far. Not because of this set specifically, just.. The game as a whole was as sluggish as the internet told me it'd be. A few of the most frustrating cheevos were only so because I made a mistake and did it the hard way. pro tip for anyone who might make that same mistake, you get a free Advanced Monster class for finishing the Tiny Medal achievement so don't grind out Monster Hearts. Honestly, the only achievement that gave me trouble was winning the contests on 1 character because I did it post game. Other than that? Pretty okay set. Not so okay game. Fun stories though.

Don't lean on a single source for information here, especially if you're trying to plan out equipment for your party. You wouldn't think "Which party members can equip a MetlKing Helmet?" would be a hard question for a guide to answer, but I've seen more than one get it wrong.

Mastered! While the game is rough to get through, the RA set itself was fantastic, great job by Jamiras. There is no crazy challenging stuff required, its a very honest: "Beat the game, collect medals, engage with all the side content". Just be prepared to farm, A LOT.
