FFVIII has more accessible achievements/trophies on Steam, PSN, etc. for those who don't like the "uninteresting and not funny" (actual quote from a complaint) RA set.

I don't see anybody saying that this set is boring, they are saying that the set is ridiculously difficult, people here really need to understand that other people doesn't have the same abilities or TIME as a pro of the game

Mastered! Really tough, but rewarding set

Kinda glad that I'm not the only one who's seeing issues with the set. Some achievements MUST be moved to a Bonus Set, 'Go Big or Go Home' as an example.

More than 20 people have Go Big or Go home, it's completely doable. Moving it to a bonus set would undermine the ones who got the achievement instead of just complaining about it.

Yikes, was looking forward to replaying FF8 for the first time in a while, but man, this list makes me want to skip it altogether.. Basically, follow specific walkthroughs and play the game without having fun, or skip 2/3 of the list.

I like this game but this archivements takes away the enjoyment.

Personally I am not a fan of the 'without junctioning or level up cheevos' in this set because I don't feel it seems that clear. Move these to a bonus set, it would make this set here more enjoyable and accessible for everyone. That's just me.

'No EXP' is actually pretty doable, it's even on an offical set of achievements, the Steam one. Now 'No Junction' is totally something for a Bonus Set.

In my own personal opinion, I don't care for any of these "extreme" achievements being on a normal list. I also don't care for the speedrun ones being on them either. And that applies to every game in general.

I enjoyed this set and its challenges.

Wow, was gonna attempt this set but honestly it seems these cheevos are not "it" chief.

Wanted to try this but a lot of these cheevs are just too extreme.

Ok, thanks for whoever spent some free time into doing achievements for FFVIII, but I guess this would work better as bonus set instead of the standard one. It's really frustrating that the achievements aren't related to things you do in game, but things you do in a too much specific way, specifically the "without leveling up and something" ones

Oh, just looked at the other comments and apparently I'm not the only one lol

What are the restrictions around junctioning? It's possible to junction Draw and Enc-None, for example, without breaking progress for other achievements, right?
22 Oct 2021
3:03
Nope, you can't even open the Junction menu from what the dev told me IIRC, if you do you need to start over again.

My immediate problem looking at this list are most of the Card Shark achievements. I can't comment on Go Big or Go Home, but the majority looks like two playthroughs. The Card Shark stuff just looks like some of the rule-based ones make other CS achievements harder to set up.
22 Oct 2021
20:15
To clarify, I don't think two playthroughs is a problem at all. My big thing is just the triple triad challenges

I think most of the Triple Triad achievements are great. Most people brute force the game with their strongest cards and the Open rule. Same and Plus make the game a LOT of fun. The biggest issue with the game comes when you combine Random without Open. Because the computer cheats and can always see your cards. I think the base achievements that Square made are pathetic. A joke of a list. That said, there are some that could be here but aren't (100 of each spell across all characters, reaching the maximum number of junctions across all characters with use of proper scrolls and GF placement, have a character maxed in all stats excluding evasion and speed (which would have required tiers and the same for elemental and status resistances)) Stuff like that to really make use of the junction system. Maybe reaching a certain level of boost on each summon. Reaching max level with all characters and summons, etc, etc. Forging all weapons at least once. No junction and no level is...tedious. But I might be willing to try it. But that perfect seed ranking is a no go. I think over 500~550 would have been plenty. Or 580. Allowing a single mistake. That seems tedious but fair. I also think requiring the Lionheart on disc 1 is too much of a meme. Though I suppose it does help with the no junction and level thing. I do appreciate your work though. This list is still lightyears beyond what we got from Square on the consoles.
