These are really good landmarks for completionists. The first time I finished Xenogears I was shocked at how much stuff I missed!

Final dungeon in less than 3 minutes and 30 seconds... and reach the top of the Babel Tower in less than 48 jumps... wow. Definitely not fun.

I'm glad to see this game has an achievement set, but only a few hours in and I can see already how this badge is more about luck than skill. Definitely just gonna play it casually so I don't ruin the game for myself.

Which badge did you mean? I thought so too at first, but the battle challenges in particular are much less luck-based than they appear. You can win fairly consistently withether attacks and the right set-up for some of the early-game ones I did so far. I admit I'm struggling with the platforming, timing and speed challenges. I regret doingRhythm Master, I can hear the metronome when I close my eyes! Only about 25 badges are challengesthough so there's plenty of content in the set if you want to skip them.

Just a handful of early examples which combined have already wasted 10+ hours of my time:1) RPS Badge - winning 5x in a row - completely luck based and the only real strat you have here is to spam fast-forward on your emulator to make the potentially endless pain reduced by half.2) Running thru the sand cruiser in under 30 sec - i just love how this one is preceeded by a massive cutscene for each attempt you want to make (unless you go out of your way to disable hardcore mode, then create save states, then practice over and over this way)3) Battle Calamity with only your starting gear equipment and win - I saw some guy comment on this one that he finally got it after 33 tries, and again it could be much worse as it's totally up to luck. At the time of writing this I've attempted 20+ times and I'll probably get this one just out of pure spite but it's going to take like 1-2 hours dedicated each day to get me good and pissed off at the start of my day until I finally luck out.

1) Agree. If its any consolation, RPS is by far the most frustrating of the 3 badges. You'll have no trouble with the other 2 in the set ('hide and seek' and 'chicken walk').2) I could only do this one with a lot of practice, and the other speed / platforming challenges are either equally or more difficult (for me, anyway). I gave up on one so far and I'd probably recommend skipping these if you're not prepared to fail many times before succeeding. A heads-up that long cut-scenes preceding the challenges happens a lot, ('creeping through the sewers' is particularly bad for that), but with fastforward its bearable.3) I'll post some suggestions under 'Tale of a Cruel World', but yes I'd say there's more luck involved with that particular one than the other disk 1 battle challenges.
