So, I mastered this abomination (which should have been banned in the Geneva convention) and my God, I thought of necking myself over a dozen times. The score for this set should be worth at least between 50% and 80% more than it is currently worth, the reason being that the game features an ungodly amount of fake difficulty in the form of "extremely cheap AI". The fact that this game was marketed for kids is mind-blowing when doing some Crystals and Gems is a Herculean task (let's not even talk about the ultimate game-padders that are the Relics). One of the hardest games ever made but for all the wrong reasons (the AI doing double-damage compared to the player and only receiving 25% damage, having double (and even triple!) the push-power in the Polar Push minigames, being able to deflect balls with frame-perfect accuracy in Ballistix, having items spawn underneath its path in Pogo and Crash Dash minigames (and skipping laps in the latter)).Also, I don't get why achievements are not working with 2-player co-op adventure, the game is equally as hard (if not harder) due to the AI ONLY focusing on human players and being even more cheap than single-player.

Because Crash Bash is a party game, pretty sure the devs focused on making fun mini games for 4 people first, and THEN they decided to code Adventure mode + the AI. Since single player wasn't a priority for the devs, they either rushed or half-assed this part and here's the result. I do agree that the AI is super cheap, but what were we expecting from a party game for the PS1? It is still very fun to play with friends, so the actual objective of this game was met.

This game needs to have a disclaimer added onto it for being emotional terrorism. I've never been so angry, sad and exhausted from playing a party game. I would never 200% this again unless I was offered a minimum of a thousand dollars. To anyone reading these, don't play this god forsaken game. Steer clear unless you want to be emotionally damaged from the pain this POS will cause you.

This could have been a really fun game if the AI wasn’t so atrociously programmed to be so unfair towards the player. The game literally cheats, it favors the cpu every chance it gets and it makes sure to force you to lose any powerup the moment you get one.
Playing a second time with Koala Kong was somehow easier? (at least the tank minigames ‘cause you deal twice as much damage with the base spiked ball projectile compared to the others)
This one was tough but I had fun finally completing this game 200%!

I noticed that the difficulty depends on the choice of character. In my opinion, playing as Neo Cortex is much more painful.

Mastered! I really despised the relic challenges and clutched about 99% of the wins, but after finishing up my 200% playthrough and casually playing through the tournaments and my evil playthrough I definitely warmed up to the game again. Such relentless AI!

this game has truly tested my patience. as others have stated, the AI is brutally unfair. ive tried going for solo 200% and i just have platinums left. time and time again i have noticed that the game will straight up decide that you lose and all the CPU players will gang up on you and ensure you cannot proceed. its incredibly frustrating. i just have one platinum left in warp room 2 and i'll consider the game finished.

Sometimes the levels are actually 100% impossible to win. You just have to hope to get lucky lol. So with the platinum relics, you have to win three times in a row. That's just ridiculous lmao.

Wtf ? How is everyone getting angry at this game ? It really isn't that hard, except maybe for the mushroom/missiles one-shooting you on 2 challenges.. and the pogo one where you can only score by stealing.
Me and my friends always loved this game and really are expecting some kind of remake including eventual online and additional content. This game rocks <3 I've never liked shitty Mario Party games because of this one.. same as CTR VS MarioKart.. Mario party games really are cheap randomness...

MahoganyVince, your comment isnt helpful lol people have different breaking points, giving up on a game sometimes is difficult to do, particularly when enough about it actually works. and this game has plenty of fun and/or rewarding moments that can keep some people playing long after they really should. i myself have nostalgia for this game and wanted to finally complete it after all these years, not realizing how awful that task would be. beating the game Any% is rewarding, and completing it has offered some good challenges. but it also has a ton of BS that eventually corrupts the experience
