Some of the missions have cheevos for doing specific things. Those are all missable. But as long as you follow along with the cheevos, you'll be fine.

Great compilation of games, set feel a little bit too generous in term of points especially when there is no mandatory difficulty selection. Only a couple of battles are difficult with the museum fight being a doozy (who doesn't love getting 4 turn of AOE in a row on half your cast ?). Just like the game gear counterpart I also love that the set also work as a roadmap with everything set in map order.

I checked your profile where it shows the achievements associated with the game and it seems not all the achievements were unlocked in hardcore mode (not sure if there was a bug that caused that or if the emu crashed at some point & wasn't in hardcore mode). You'll notice not all the achievements you unlocked have the golden border around them.

I beat book 1 and 2 and there is no option to start book 3. Not sure what to do about that. I even found a save of someone who finished all 3 books and while I could load his book 3 save when I hit new game the option to start Book 3 was not there. Im sort of stuck on what to do next and google searches havent been helpful

I think you need to find a ticket in the game to access Book 3.

I had to beat Book 1 and 2's final battles again then it allowed me to start book 3

Maybe the save data got corrupted or something the first time.

So it seems that in order to start the book I had re-beat book 1 and 2's final battle in the same session. Once I did that Book 3 was right there and I was able to start it. I noticed on later during the start of a different session the option to start book 3 was gone again which lead me to the belief that my issue was session based

I'm certain that's an issue with the emulator and the battery/memory because the physical game was not like that.

This game is broken. I played for 30 hours, had to restart the first book three times due to save file loss. You can only save in camp, otherwise the game stops responding to input, and when you restart, the saves are gone. After completing the second book, I found out that the third one didn't unlock, it doesn't appear even if you defeat the final bosses of both books. And if you save in the first book, the save in the second book disappears (I had to do this twice). I can't even imagine how to finish this.
