It's probably a little late but you should lock out the Kremkoin/completion-related achievements if somebody tries to use the instant 75 kremkoins code on the first level.

Little bit trivial but shouldn't it be worth more points answering Swanky's questions than reading all of the tips from Cranky and Wrinkly? Also, the Cranky and Wrinkly achievements suck.. I know how to play this game well but now I have to waste time going through all of their rambling? Cheers :P

Edit: Actually making the Swanky achievement a 15 pointer alongside Cranky and Wrinkly would even the game out at 400... just sayin'!

I didn't realize that required having all 75 at once -- I was spending the Kremkoins as I acquired them. Anyone have a good reason not to change this to unlock when you've acquired all 75 at some point?

That's just the way Dissection made it. I forgot until you brought it up, but I planned on remaking it.
The problem with it before the alternate requirements feature, this would have required bit flags for every single Kremkoin in the game because in DKC2, there is no 'final' Kremkoin. That's over 75 requirements. I have an idea that should work without finding the bit flags for Kremkoins. I'm going to use alt groups, bit flags for having paid the Klubba's Kiosk toll in each world, and the current held count of Kremkoins.
Ex:
1: Paid all Kiosk tolls + Have 0 Kremkoins
2: Paid all but 1 Kiosk toll + Have (toll cost for 1 Kiosk) Kremkoins
3: Paid all but 2 Kiosk tolls + Have (toll cost for 2 Kiosks) Kremkoins

I just realized I will have to do like 50 alt groups... oh well.. maybe another year. I really don't want to go through the whole game, get every single Kremkoin and mark the flag for every one of them just to make one achievement. (I know for a fact they are mixed up in addresses of other collectables so no address is solely Kremkoins)

BTW, posts are really thin now.

*I demoted it to Unofficial because it's just not going to work out for anyone unaware of how it's currently working and almost everyone that got it just did the trick in stage one to get 75.

Thanks Brian, I was worried it would be something like that.

What about rewording it just so that it unlocks on paying all the tolls? That way even someone who's having trouble beating the Lost World stages (and they are really tough!) can still get recognition for getting 100% of the bonus stages in the regular game.

It takes a few tries. I know I tested out different variables hitting the target, like 2 kongs alive vs. 1, banana number, time to get to the end, getting hit earlier in the stage and getting a dk barrel...eventually you try enough stuff and it will work.

Does the game's database allow you to call up colors on parts of the screen to script achievements? Thought for this one since it is finnicky rather than calling on the hidden boombox animation or the hidden guitar, to just call upon the colors of the hidden instruments on that segment of the screen so that it will always trigger regardless of how wonky the specific call is in the stage's code.

It's just that one lava stage, so colors that match the golden boombox or the guitar in that area of the screen would not matter in other stages with different colors.

It would also be good to have a chevo using hardomode.

When you get to the game select screen highlight two player contest and press down 5 times to get music test and another 5 times to get to cheat mode. Once in cheat mode press this code to to get the hard mode: B, A, Right Right, A, Left, A, X

Hard mode removes barrels from spawning in the levels.
