Dolphin Now Supported on Xbox Series S|X!

Playing emulators on the Xbox Series consoles is something many of our community members take part in, be it through RetroArch of the fork of PCSX2 through XBSX2. Going forward, a new member joins the family: Dolphin!

Thanks to the efforts of SternXD, the maintainer of XBSX2, GameCube games can now be playing on your Xbox Series consoles. Both softcore- and hardcore achievements are supported, as well as almost every config option available on the PC version. There is also support for DSU, button mapping support to remap your Xbox controller, and booting into the GameCube/Wii menu straight from the settings menu.

Note: Xbox One is also supported, but do expect to run into issues due to weaker hardware.

Inevitably questions will arise here about the Android version of Dolphin. At this point in time, we have no information to share regarding it. Don't bother asking here about it, and respect the emulator developers as always.

Correct, there is no news regarding Dolphin for Android. Anyone can add support for it though, like SternXD did here.

The same is true of SternXD's fork of PCSX2, XBSX2. Yes, you can technically run both applications on Xbox One but you will run into issues.

The Xbox One release date is almost as close to the GameCube release date as it is to today, roughly 12 years in opposite directions. It's impressive it works at all, kudos to SternXD.
