Welcome to the Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiesta! The goal of this event is to beat

using only 4 jobs assigned at random. In addition to bringing back the classic “Regular/Normal” rule set featured last year, we are also adding a new rule set: Meteor! In this rule set, your randomized jobs can come from ANY crystal, and can even roll Freelancer!
🌠When doing a Meteor run, you must name Bartz “Meteor” at the start of the game. You will unlock an achievement when you have done this successfully.

Objective
Final Fantasy 5 boasts an impressive set of 20+ jobs to use against the forces of darkness. In this challenge, you will be assigned 4 of these jobs randomly. Successfully beat the final boss using only these 4 jobs to earn an event badge! You can even upgrade your badge to hardcore by taking on even harder foes…

Registration & Jobs Assignments
Anyone can register for the event simply by requesting a Wind Crystal roll in this thread or in the #four-job-fiesta channel in Discord. When you register, you will be given your Wind Crystal job which you will use once you unlock your starter jobs..
After reaching a new crystal, you can request a job assignment for the new crystal. Make a post in Discord or the forum topic indicating the roll you need (e.g. “I’ve reached the Fire Crystal! Please give me a fire job roll.”). The event team will provide you with your new job.

💧 Water Crystal - Red Mage, Time Mage, Summoner, Berserker, Mystic Knight
🔥 Fire Crystal - Beastmaster, Geomancer, Ninja, Ranger, Bard -
Note: Ranger and Bard jobs are obtained after the initial set of Fire Crystal jobs.
🏔️ Earth Crystal - Dragoon, Dancer, Samurai, Chemist

When playing the Meteor rule set, your rolls will be randomly picked from any of the jobs, including Freelancer and Mime!

GBA Exclusive Jobs are not eligible for rolls.

Achievement Subset
A brand new revision to the FJF subset has been created for this challenge. The achievements will check your job levels and ABP earned at each boss to ensure that the player is following the rules of the challenge. If an achievement does not unlock, you may have accidentally used an incorrect job! We recommend using save backups just in case. While the event badge will only be available for the duration of the event, the subset will remain available year round.

Claiming Victory!
In order to prove that the achievements were unlocked using the assigned jobs, all players must provide a screenshot of the final boss and/or superbosses being defeated with the appropriate party jobs. Post your screenshot in discord or the forum to claim your victory!

Rules
This year’s event will feature the Normal and Meteor ruleset. Normal and Meteor rules allow characters to swap jobs between each other in order to grant access to other abilities. Future iterations of the event will add new rule sets for even greater challenges. Special rules specific to the Meteor rule set are marked with 🌠
🌠When doing a Meteor run, you must name Bartz “Meteor” at the start of the game. You will unlock an achievement when you have done this successfully.
📌Each crystal will grant access to several jobs. Request a job roll in Discord or the forum to determine which job you may use from each crystal.
📌Excluding Freelancer and rolled jobs, all other jobs must always remain at level 1 with 0 Ability Points (ABP).
📌Players must have at least 1 of each assigned job active at all times.
📌At the start of the game, all party members will be Freelancers. Freelancer does not earn ABP.

📌All characters must change to their Wind Crystal job as soon as they are obtained. Freelancers may not be used after obtaining the Wind Crystal jobs.
🌠 If you do not yet have access to a job during a Meteor run, you may remain a Freelancer until you have access to one of your rolled jobs. From that point forward, at least one of each job must be used, and Freelancer is no longer allowed (unless you roll a freelancer).
🌠 The Mime job is not obtained until MUCH later in the story. If you roll a Mime, you may use any of your rolled jobs until you obtain the Mime crystal.
📌Players may freely swap assigned jobs between characters, so long as the above rules are followed.
📌Players may use any abilities they have learned from other jobs while they were swapped.

For additional clarification, here is how the jobs should be assigned for each crystal until the Earth Crystal jobs are obtained:


Rewards
Defeat Neo Exdeath within the parameters of the challenge to earn an event badge featuring Exdeath.

Defeat both the Omega and Shinryu superbosses within the parameters of the challenge will upgrade the badge to one featuring both superbosses.

Badges will only be handed out to players that complete the challenge with their assigned rolls. These badges were created by the talented Jenettebaghead. All badges will be handed out after the event closes.

Note: The Exdeath and Superboss badges are mutually exclusive for each ruleset. If you already earned the Exdeath badge and would like to upgrade it to the superboss badge this year, you may do so by beating the superbosses in a new run. You will be asked to delete your old badge before the new badge is granted.

In addition to the badges, upon completing your first run, you will receive a special Discord role for the duration of the event.

The official Four Job Fiesta is a charity event. This year they are supporting Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, which is an organization that provides free healthcare to thousands of injured and ill children in Palestine that lack access to local healthcare. Can I use a different set of rules used by the official FFV Four Job Fiesta?
This year we are only supporting Normal (#reg) and Meteor runs. Trying to use a different set of rules may cause achievements to be ineligible. New rules will be added to the set and event when it returns next year.

Can I change my job? My job assignment is too difficult!
This game can be beat with all sorts of party combinations. Reach out to the other participants for tips on how to get past difficult bosses or areas. If you would like to start a fresh run, you may do so beating Neo ExDeath at the end of the game. Alternatively, you may also request a reroll after receiving your final job roll at the Earth Crystal chamber, but doing so will ALSO require you to complete a reroll task to improve the site. Details about the eligible tasks are here. Rerolls may be done for any run type this year.

Can I earn achievements from the core set while participating?
Unfortunately, you cannot play both the core set and the subset at the same time. Participants must use the subset patch to participate in the event.

Can I play in Softcore mode?
As with most events, participation requires playing in Hardcore mode. This is the best way to ensure that the rules are enforced and that everyone has a level playing field.

I participate in the official FFV Four Job Fiesta. Can I use those rolls instead?
Yes! Simply share your rolls from the FJF event bot or your profile showing proof of your job assignments. Your RA event assignments will be the same. Please note that you cannot change your job via the Job Fair once it is assigned. You will still need to earn the achievements by playing the event subset.

I have a couple questions:

A brand new revision to the FJF subset has been created for this challenge.

I participated last year and earned the event badge. Will the new revision affect my badge?

If you earned the Exdeath badge and would like to upgrade it to the superboss badge this year, you may do so by beating the superbosses in a new run. You will be asked to delete your old badge before the new badge is granted.

If I want to participate this year I must delete my last year badge (I have the super bosses one) or this apply only to users who have the Exdeath one and want to upgrade?

If I try a meteor run, will I get a new badge or just upgrade the one I already have, do I need to delete my badge to upgrade to the meteor one?

The revision will add new achievements for the Meteor rule set and may include some minor updates to the existing achievements to prevent both Normal and Meteor runs from being unlocked at the same time. The event badges earn last year will not be affected. If you mastered the subset already, your mastery badge will not go away. If you have not yet mastered the subset, you will need to complete all achievements (including the new ones) to earn the Mastery badge.

If I want to participate this year I must delete my last year badge (I have the super bosses one) or this apply only to users who have the Exdeath one and want to upgrade?

This is only for those who got the Exdeath badge and want to try for the superboss badge this year. If you already have the superboss badge, we recommend focusing on the Meteor rule set to earn the new event badge. At the end of this year, participants can have up to 2 event badges related to FJF. 1 for Regular run and 1 for Meteor run.
