Welcome to Mario Party RA - A Six Month Event Filled with Minigames, Chaos, and Mario Party Themed Shenanigans!
Time Frame - July 6 at 0:00(Server Time) to December 28th at 0:00(Server Time).
Rules
This event works similarly to Mario Party. Each participant starts at the beginning of the board and must move across the board to reach the Star, which they can then obtain once they have enough Coins. Movement is done through minigames, which will be provided by members of the Event Team. Minigames are challenges that require people to get themed achievements worth certain points (points required depend on what space is landed on.). The last digit of the Achievements ID and Game ID will determine how much the person moves, if both the game ID and achievement ID end in 0 the tens spot will be used instead. Each week the Star moves to a new location on the map, and every four weeks we will move to an entirely new board.
How Spaces Work
Blue - Gives 5 coins and makes the minigame require one 5 point achievement
Red - Takes 5 coins and makes the minigame require one 10 point achievement
Bowser - Lose half your coins and make the minigame require two 10 point and one 5 point achievements (Player picks what achievement they want to move with)
Green - Gain or Lose 5-10 coins and make the minigame require one 5 point and one 10 point achievement (Player picks what achievement they want to move with)
Star - May be purchased for 20 coins upon passing this space. Does not count as a space when calculating distance traveled (you cannot land on it).
How Coins Work
Coins are how you buy Stars and Items. Each player starts with 5 coins and gains or loses them as they move around. Clearing a Minigame gives 5 coins no matter what space is landed on.
How Items Work
There are three Items that you can spend coins to buy.
Reverser (5 Coins) - Let's you go backward on the Board.
Reroller (5 Coins) - Rerolls the player's Minigame (You get one of these free at the start of the board)
Doubler (10 Coins) - Double the Player's next roll.
Skipper (10 Coins) - Let's the player skip their minigame and move a random distance from 2 - 18 spaces (You get one of these free at the start of the board)
Star Spring (20 Coins) - Let's the player jump straight to the Star (Limit one per board)
Prizes
Beaten Event Badge - 1 Star on Each Board
Mastery Event Badge - 2 Stars on Each Board
Bonus Event Badge - 4 Stars on Each Board
In addition, the person who gets all 4 Stars on a board first, will get their name on one of the achievements for the set and "Claim" the board as theirs. In addition, there are the following "Bonus goals" that will get your name in the description of an achievement (4 Stars Required):
Most Coins
Most Spaces
Most Non-Blue Spaces Landed On
Most Efficient (Least Minigames and Least Spaces Moved)
Most Items Used
Can I use an Alt? - Yes, but let us know beforehand.
Board Rerun Rules:
Player starts where they left off on the board
Players with 4 Stars on a Board Can’t Revisit the board
Players have to get Stars in order (so if they have 2 Stars on an old board they have to get Stars 3 and 4)
Rerun Boards have a separate minigame daily limit from the Current Board’s minigame daily limit
Players MUST specify if they are going back to a board and that the minigame they are submitting is for an old board.
You can only revisit one board at a time (you must get a star from a revisited board before you can head to another one)
FAQ:
--- Minigames ---
Q: How do I submit my completed minigame?
A: Post it here or in the Mario-Party-Ra discord channel and an Event Team member will get back to you eventually.
Q: How do I get a new minigame?
A: When you submit your completed minigame, the events team will roll you a new one.
Q: How long do I have to complete my minigame?
A: You have until the end of the board (four weeks from the start), but keep in mind that the star will change locations each week.
Q: For the point requirement on minigames, does it have to be that exact number of points?
A: If the achievement is worth more points than the requirement, it can be used as well.
Q: How do I check the colour of an achievement?
A: Right click on the achievement icon, "Open Image in New Tab", and remove the "_lock" from the URL.
You can also look at the Recent Unlocks on the achievement page, and try going to the profile of those who are there.
--- Movement ---
Q: How do I get to the other side of the board?
A: When moving past a bridge or other crossing point, please note in your Discord message whether you want to cross it by including or omitting the "b" from your destination.
Q: How do I know how many spaces I move?
A: The number of spaces is determined by adding the last digit of the game's ID and the last digit of the achievement's ID. For example, would result in five spaces. (3 + 2)
If both the game ID and the achievement ID end in 0, then the next digit (in the ten's place) will be used instead.
Q: How many Stars can I get per week?
You are limited to one star per week.
Q: What if I start late or miss a star one week?
Do not worry, there will be points later on in the event where stars from previous weeks will show up.
Current Board - Bonus Rewind Time!
Current Star Location - Wherever you need Stars
Next Star will be rolled on - December 28st at 0:00(Server Time)
