Alright, I've worked all day for the past few days on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. And don't be concerned, since I'm a huge fan of the game. I played this nonstop over the winter of 2005... good times.
I've uploaded a bunch of Core achievements tonight so anyone can start it up and get a headstart if they feel like it. Just don't get past story mission 008 for tonight/tomorrow... there's plenty to do other than that.

Also, I'm not a fan of games with 100~ish achievements... it makes me cringe just thinking about it...
BUT, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance DESERVES it... hopefully the hardcore fans can appreciate that.

I hope the addition of this game alone will also bring in some new players.

I'm sure that's how the people that have done these games with 100ish achievements also felt. People make them out of labors of love, not easy points. A look at the Castlevania GBA games, Phantasy Star 4, Shining Force 2, FF3, and CT will show you that.

Alright, end of the night for developing tonight... 128 achievements so far, and I haven't even touched the summons yet.

I'm having some problems with my emulator crashing while editing achievements... because of having more than 100 of them.
I need to demote a bunch from CORE and edit away... I might even demote everything and manually award the achievements to those who have already earned them. Sorry for any inconvenience to those who have started playing Final Fantasy: Tactics Advance, for I should have waited to promote them all when they were completely done.

Temporarily demoted a whopping 140 points worth of achievements... will be re-added in a few hours upon final completion!!!!!!

Completed!
Made the achievement set for devoted fans, and those who would really like to
get into the game and borderline 'max it out.'
I had the Official Players Guide by my side the whole time, and really took my time on this set.

I hope you enjoy it,

Before you go into my achievement set and screw around with values.. simply report the achievements so i can near-immediately fix them.

Rews, nice work here, you've clearly spent a good long time working on these - I'm sure you wouldn't, but please don't forget that any achievements you submit can be modified by any user on RA - they don't "belong" to anyone. It's important to remember that, and it's easy to forget especially after you've put hours and days of time into making the achievements. If we get to a point where there is a significant debate over a set, I have the ability to lock the set, however we shouldn't need it. In order to evolve RA, we need to be flexible, agile and democratic. Nice work here

Just to clarify, how did you add the achievements above the 100th? I've put a block in place to stop that from happening, the emulator isn't designed to have more than 100 active achievements, it's likely to crash otherwise...

I know Scott.. but they actually broke the achievements, so others were missing them. I had to manually add achievements to the guys who are all racing for first place who were skipped by the anonymous edit... so I was getting a lot of complaints which probably lowers players expectations of me developing.

The way they were edited, they couldn't be achieved by anyone.... so it's not really 'editing', it's BREAKING. And I know it wasn't me, since they were edited in a style that I never use.

I'm not claiming them as my own, but for unnecessary editing that makes me do more work really @%&(%#&^%@^&*#^%(&^%#&^%(@&.

As for more than 100 achievements, I pretty much hate any set that has more than 80 achievements, but every FFTA achievement I made (other than story progression) unlocks something in-game, so I thought it was necessary. I'll PM you the way I did it, but I'll never do it again.

REPORT BROKEN ACHIEVEMENTS - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX YOURSELF !!!!
I can not stress this enough...
Took me 2 hours to edit tampered achievement values today.

@Rews - Which achievements in particular? I can chase up who/why/when the bad edits were made and why, maybe there's been some confusion

Don't worry about it... I don't want to publicly point names or make enemies... but If you look at the feed on what i've edited last night and this morning, you'll notice.

I don't even want to look at that set anymore.

Its really not necessary to have an achievement for everything if it goes over the limit and the limit is 100 no matter how you bypassed it.

And the thing is anyone can edit so anyone can break this list at any time it should be reduced or scott should lift the cap. A broken game anytime someone random edits is a downer.

I looked at the feed history back to the 8th of Oct., and nobody has edited those cheevs besides you.
You specify tampered achievement "values." Are you positive you didn't add the values yourself, but with the decimal/hex view toggled to the opposite of what you thought it was set to? That would've done it.
I see the set was "completed" on the 29th of Sept., and I haven't gone back that far in the feed, so I linked above where I left off.
