sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm not super familiar with retro achievements, but how do you get trade evolutions and stuff like that?

simply put, you don't. That's why the achievement specifies "obtainable in the game without external devices". You only need to worry about what's possible with only one game.

Why isn't this marked as missable? I know it's not easy to miss, but it is possible to mess up catching a legendary right?

@highTrolla, legenderys can respawn after elite four, what cant respawn is rotom though, there is only one in the game

If anyone wants a comprehensive list of all the Pokemon that you can catch and where, you just have to look up a Professor Oak Challenge guide (the same applies to every Pokemon game with a set on here).

Just a small tip for anyone wanting to reduce grinding time a bit(though you need to rematch the elite 4 so many times anyways) - if you're like me and playing a ton of Battle Frontier (mostly for Tower achievement), you can buy Rare Candies. Kinda steep price, but not much to spend BP on anyways.

I know it says without external devices, and obviously I won’t do anything if it’s a problem, but will trading or transferring cause issues? I have some Pokemon from Emerald that I’d kill to have in my game but don’t want to break the achievement.
