This was absolutely the worst no junction no level fight in the game by a huge margin, to the point that I turned off hardcore to get past it with save states and made a separate save file where I over leveled to get Punishment and Gauntlet just for this fight. If you're more honorable than I, just make a plan ahead of time so you can make sure to get the most out of weapon upgrades before this fight. I didn't monitor how much exp I got from forced fights until after this and it hurt me a lot.

I tried this a few different methods but the only one that worked was to use Rinoa and Invincible Moon. Fujin basically always starts with tornado and I couldn't ever get through the fight if I didn't get lucky on the RNG so that I could use Rinoa's limit break before she cast tornado. If you succeed at that you likely have won, I didn't have anything else work.

If you are shameful like I am and state scum to get past it, the starting position of the ATB gauge changes based on game time and you can save state right before the fight triggers to keep re-entering it until you get the right RNG. I made the mistake of having the default weapons only and I don't recommend it.

Most of people will drop NLNJ challenge right on these bosses :) I tryed Quistis and Rinua party's. Won with Rinua. My orientier was this video https://youtu.be/-9QQP7Ft43Y
But I realize one thing, those boss easier when you learn how to do fast Zell combos.
After about 12 hours of reseting I beat that couple in 3 duels :)
First of all you need do a BBR quest to be able leave town, leave Zell lowest hp as possible (for better duel time) and Rinua with 50-60 HP. Set battle speed to middle or slower, save in Zell room.
First part is easy, Zell activate duel and do ONLY these moves in THAT order : "right -left", "down, O, up, O", "up-down". You don't need read "combat king 2" to do meteor strike in battle, just need do a right input (BTW, that book we get exactly from that boss, ridiculous xD).
If Zell get first possible input "O, X" and "right - left", do a "right-left", next move "Meteor strike", next "up-down", next "right-left" .....
Damage after MS is allow to see how many HP boss have, remember showing numbers is a 25% damage of current HP. When damage after MS is about 60-70, drop MS and just do "up-down" and "right left" it's faster to input.
Same tactic if Zell start with "up down" first possible input. "R-L", "MS", U-D" etc....
First Rajin die easy if you have 9 second duel, Rinua deal with soldiers in one Angelo Cannon.

Second part is reason of many resets. Fujin and her tornado is annoying. ATB must work on your side too. In my winning try I was lucky to get Zell first move and 12 (!!!) seconds of Duel! I beat all shit out of her in one limit xD.
Rajin strike to Squall, Rinua finally get Invincible moon (but I don't need it), Zell got another good Duel with 9 seconds and battle over with my victory.
my advice to all : stay calm and keep reseting xD

Little update.
Im almost ruin my NLNJ cuz I absorb wrong experience to wrong person and I resave my winning try. SO. I had to beat that couple ONE MORE time xD.
Aaaand I win in 4 attempt, and I say it again, Zell is all you need in that fight. Just stay calm and use tactic with three moves repeating combo and you will win! GL
