This is not triggering for me even after following the advice above. I have both Palkia and Dialga in my party and I am using both the black flute and the white flute on the flute symbol. Nothing is happening.

I figured it out. I had been using the DeSmuME 2015 core and it wasn't activating. I switched to the basic DeSmuME core and it worked instantly. I had Palkia and Dialga in my party, went to Spear Pillar in Mt. Coronet, walked onto the center of the flute symbol in front of the entrance, and used the Black Flute and it popped immediately.

i just got this using MelonDS. It appears that you don't need to have Dialga and Palkia in your party, you only need their pokedex entries after capturing them. In my case, I went up to Spear Pillar to capture them, but first I tried using the flutes, it didn't work. Then, just after capturing them i tried using the flute again and the achievement unlocked. I had a full party, so they went straight to the PC, that's why i say that you only need to capture them, not having them in your party
