maybe worth noting once in auto-battle mode, you can mash the a button to skip through text faster without voiding the achievement. gives ness a bit more time to heal a party member hit with a lethal PSI Freeze β attack.

You can pick up some Teddy Bears in the department store to tank some hits for you.

The Teddy Bears tactics seems hard for this one as toys get instant-killed by Mystical Records.
My advice is probably to try gathering some good healing items for both Ness and Jeff in order to use them in Auto battle. It's especially useful for Jeff as long as Ness can utilize Lifeups well.

This is largely RNG dependent. The Spook wasting his turns on PSI Magnet is ideal, but often you'll get hit with a Freeze followed by a Lifeup. It took me a few tries before I got lucky with the Spook using Magnet multiple times in a row. It also helped that he happened to focus and kill Jeff instead of Ness (because Ness does more damage).
If you want to be really safe, then your best bet is probably just grind levels in Dusty Dunes. It's quite easy to do so there, because the house by the mine has free resting and a phone. Not to mention the possibility of the rare Criminal Worm for massive XP gains. The higher your level, the easier the fight will be, obviously.

I managed to get this in my first try. I lost Jeff but made it through. The teddy bears as damage sponges helped a lot since PSI attacks don’t affect them. The trick here is to make sure you’re good and ready to fight the Spook before the lights go out, then immediately go up. Present enemies are usually easier to avoid than other kinds since they go in a straight line and don’t stop until they run into an obstacle. So you can use that to avoid unnecessary fights. If you die, honestly my rec would be to reset and try again since continuing would put you back into a dark dept store with enemies on the first level. More enemies to fight or avoid to try and get back to the top.

Didn't have much trouble with Nes at level 45 and Jeff at level 39

First try, no problem at all. Ness over leveled to 50 and Jeff level 39.
Enemy was using Fire and Life Up (their mistake). Couldn't hold us lol
