    Its still not triggering, I saved right before I collected the last purple gem so I could easily finish this.

    Was able to get it on a repeat playthrough, the only difference this time was that the final egg and gem I got was NOT in the kangaroo section. So make sure your final gem and egg aren't in the the kangaroo area!
