Without Speedy Spin it is impossible. You have to set the exact moment of the dash and jump, used basically 3 times. It took about 13 attempts or more to get it.

i did it, and did not use a controller. took me dozens of tries but i did it.

Easily achieved with Speedy Spin badge. Takes a few tries. I was worried it might be missable at first since I had already opened the chest beforehand, but that doesn't matter.

I'm usually against speedrunning techniques being used in sets but I was really happy with this one. I've been doing this through all my playthrough without knowing it was used in speedruns so it didn't take more than 3 minutes for me and it was really fun. I felt really great when I acomplished it.

For anyone attempting this, just so you know, you don't need to reset after each failed attempts (like I assumed lol). You can try as many times as you want. If you get hit by the spikes, it sort of resets the cheevo. Keep trying until you reach the treasure chest unharmed, that's all that matters for the cheevo to pop. Hope it helps. Cheers!
