The box bridge keeps screwing me over. Doing this with just the D-Pad feels so hard. Anybody got any hints or tips?

Hold jump button to increase your air time. Alternatively, gain invincibility and run for the bridge trigger, but wait a second for the bridge to build before trying to cross it. The boxes will break as you run across them.

You can jump over it in two turns, first try to jump as many boxes as you can, second turn jump the rest

I tried the bridge many times. What worked for me is to do high jumps while holding the jump button and pressing Up on the D-pad slightly. The character's shadow also helps as a guide before hitting each box.

The best way of doing it is getting 3 Aku Aku masks (namely, make the one next to the Checkpoint crate your third) and run towards the bridge. You'll have to backtrack to clean up the other crates since you don't want to waste the invincibility getting them all in one go, but it's the most consistent way of doing it, and the crate bridge is the hardest part of the level anyway.
