got this by using a M-Tentacle until he got poisoned (reset if he didn't) and spamming Hi-Potions to heal as needed, wasn't as bad as I expected it to be

If you're light on tentacles then deadly waste items can poison too.

This one is the first difficulty achievement, I only had 5 M-Tentacles and had to rely a lot on RNG, a tip I would give is to have at least 8 M-tentacles which you can get at the Gi Cave.

Or you can just reset after the first failed poison since the save point is right next to the boss.

Hint: Get some mirrors at the mansion, throw one at him and then he has reflect and can't heal, use m-tentacles, then carry on with grenades if you run out. Caused poison with 2nd tentacle and only had 3 anyway :P

This can also be done with a mirror 70 odd grenades. having the bolt ring and bolt/elemental on an armlet and a crap ton of luck i was in my low 30s. also helps to be in the backrow. i forgot to use sadness. that would have helped. I had missed out on the tentacles.

This boss (or game) is bugged and that is a poison strategy using in speedruns: every enemy has thresholds base on percentage of their HP - lover the HP harder the attack patterns - poison ticks don't change the threshold so if you don't doing anything harming boss will be in 1st stage of patterns and do not using cure and trine.
Good reference but I hate this set and this achievement too - too much of the "pro" gameplay needed. Besides there is "pro" set as well.
