I changed the menu color to white to make the reel text more pronounced, then watched for the exclamation point in "Yeah !" for timing. You can press Square to hide the menu (and pause the reels) as a buffer if it helps.

I cheesed this with the pause option for RetroArch. Not the game pause.. If you can pause it with "Yeah" one to one and a half spots above where you paused it, you can just hold the accept button, and unpause. It should land on the Yeah for you. At least it did for me anyway.

Hint how to "farm" this limit. You need manipulate, transform and heal materias. Haste or big guard as optional. Fly to Cactus island and engage encounter with cactuar (sand zone of island). Before fight, put Tifa on top, second party member and third in back row, also lower Tifas HP to about 2000 HP or so and put her in Fury status. In fight, manipulate cactus, then cast Resist on him (or use vaccine), then cast mini on Tifa. Then cast 1000 needels on Tifa, 2-3 hits will be enough for filling limit gauge. Aaaand just farm. And believe me, this shit absolutely annoying. I try this about 2 days and still nothing. Author of set is a sadist -_-

Fast forward helps a lot for filling your limit meter. I used it liberally while fighting enemies around Mideel to rack up a lot of damage, healing when needed. Couldn't have been more than ten seconds to fill it between attempts and it doesn't require much thought.

FINALLY!!!!! Goddammit I got it after 3 days of farm...
I used fast forward too, method I pointed above allow you do an infinite limits inside ONE battle, no need to engage random encounters at all. Just try it )

Xeishiki's comment about using retroarch's pause helped me get it on first try using this method. I recommend using a keyboard for pausing so you can hold Okay button on your controller.
