Does this have to be with a bubble or just jumping out of the water? Can the level select be used? I can't seem to trigger it...

Level select can be used. It has to be in the Labyrinth Zone and you must take your breath in the last possible second. Observe that the in game counter does not measure the time on seconds.

Trying to get this to trigger right now, do I need to use one of the bubbles to get air? Or does jumping out of the water work too?

This achievement uses new logic resources to make it work! So, if anyone is having trigger issues after done it correctly, make sure that you are using the latest version of Retroarch and/or RALibretro emulators with their updated cores! xD

I don't know what I'm doing wrong here. If I cut it any closer then I'm just going to drown Sonic.Am I misunderstanding the achievement, it doesn't mean running the level timer to 9:99 and taking a breath does it?Anyone got a video?

i literally just crouched in the first little puddle in LZ1 and jumped right as the song was ending and got it first try lol

I'm certain i did this correct a couple of times but the achievement do not triggered but today i used level select to pratice the labyrinth zone and when i loaded the level the achievement pops-up having to do nothing. Weird behaviour.

I couldn't duplicate this, but I added a checkpoint to prevent triggers from occurring during loading/transitions. Out of curiosity, were you using Bizhawk?

Despite I unlocked the achievement in-game while I was in Labyrinth Zone Act 3, it was not effective in my RA Profile.

For those who wish to know the most simplest way of doing this here’s a hint as I do not wish to spoil the fun
Observe carefully as a second also has milliseconds
I truly think I gave away a bit too much in the hint.
All in all this achievement is easy
