Is this one of every meal, or every possible combination for a meal? For instance, you could make one item with a Mushroom and be done, or would I have to make that same item with another item afterwards?

Weirdly, this popped for me at 49 out of the 50 recipes. I had Jelly Shroom remaining (which I still did for completion's sake).

The game doesn't tell you which recipes you've made, but you can "Check" (a max of 32) completed ones into any shopkeeper to store them so you know which ones you've done. Two are also used in the Deluxe Feast, and 3 are used for Koopa Koot's favors.

Ultra Shrooms are dropped by golden Li'l Oinks in southern Toad Town, so you can get an infinite supply that way.

The Yoshi Cookie is missable because the Yoshi who gives Melons stops giving them after Chapter 5.

The Yoshi Cookie isn't missable as far as I can tell. I have tested this out in the beginning and end of chapters of 6, 7, and 8(Before heading to the final area). I wanted to confirm what CassetteCobra said was true or not. I think what they are referring to is the Yellow Yoshi stating that they lost their appetite after the volcanic explosion.(I actually thought I lost my chance) I felt this was an awfully strict moment to get it. Surely enough. After Chapter 5 progresses to Chapter 6. I went back and talked to them again. Lo and behold they are asking for something yummy again. So I wanted to clarify to everyone that you CAN obtain melons after the next chapter begins. Hope this helps!

If you're struggling with this like I did where you're SURE you did everything, go and remake a cake. You probably only made the cake for Gourmet Guy before the recipe book was attained (as that's required). For some reason, this didn't unlock for me until I did that.
