It is the machine on the right or the one in the left? I've defeated 5, then entered again and defeat 5 more and I didn't got the achievement
    VelocityEleven 30 Jan 2023 22:20
How do you do this? as soon as I win 5 it kicks me out and have to start again... I've gotten 5 wins 3 times now and nothing seems to give any hint on how to progress further
    VelocityEleven 30 Jan 2023 22:49
nevermind... you just have to reenter and continue. maybe I quit between them previously or something

    “Pokemon: 14

    1x Magmar (lv 31)
    3x Growlithe
3x Arcanine (lv 45 of course)
    2x Moltres (Fire-giver / lvl 37)
    4x Electabuzz (Lv 35)
    1x Mr. Mime

    Trainers: 25
    3x Proff Oak
    4x Bill
    2x Pokemon Trader
    3x Energy Search
    3x Energy Removal
    2x Super Energy Removal
    1x Switch
    1x Scoop Up
    2x Computer Search
    1x Gust of Wind
    2x Potion
    1x Super Potion

    Energy: 21

    15x Fire
    5x Thunder
    1x Psychic

    Notes / Explanations:
The deck tries to use Magmar, Growlithe or Electabuzz as starting out, attempts to use Moltres for Fire-giver multiple times to thin deck (scoop up works here too).

The deck has a lot of card advantage and control aspects, which it uses until Moltres or Arcanine are ready to dominate. The heals are helpful in stalling and of course healing Arcanine after Take Downs. I find the Electabuzz's necessary because of the water weakness of Arcanine. The Mr. Mime is good for decks that can only do high dmg attacks. Magmar is good for poison to get around some stalling decks or other Mr. Mimes since my deck does mostly over 30 dmg per hit.

The only time I have difficulty is if Moltres gets super unlucky (more than 3 misses in a row...).“

From GameFAQs. I recommend setting the text speed to five and turning off attack animations in the configuration menu for quicker matches.

    Also from GameFAQs:

“On your turn, go to the Play Area screen. Go to the bottom-most card on your screen (either your active Pokemon if nothing is benched, or whatever is the first Pokemon on your bench, bottom left) and then press Down and A while exiting the screen with B. If done correctly, the match will completely close and exit back to the overworld, with the game acting as if you won.”

This is a useful, time-saving glitch for those that need to farm the cards for their decks. It won’t work unless your last end-match condition was a win. This method can also be used to farm energy cards from the one person in Mason’s Laboratory.
    Digifinity 29 Aug 2023 05:06
Also, the glitch doesn’t work when using Mason’s challenge machine. That’ll result in a crash.

This was a great deck to start from (didn't have every card needed lol), but this worked, thank you so so so much!! Mastered!

The above guy's deck isn't nearly as good as some other Haymaker decks that can easily be farmed off of Imakuni (for Trainers) and Colosseum packs (for the rare Basics). One good example:

    4× Electabuzz
    4× Hitmonchan
    3× Scyther
    3× Bill
    3x Professor Oak
    4× Energy Removal
    2x Super Energy Removal
    4x Energy Searches
    3x Computer Search
    3× Gust of Wind
    2× Item Finder
    4× PlusPower
    1× Scoop Up
    4× Double Colorless Energy
    7× Fighting Energy
    6× Lightning Energy
    3x Grass Energy

I was missing a few Basics and added in a few Hitmonlees which also got the job done -- if you're missing any Trainers, just substitute with some Energies. The main thing is to make sure you've got something on your bench -- sometimes you'll lose because of unlucky draws. Computer Search is vital for that.

If you end up with Scyther as your first active, the best situation is to first attach a Grass Energy to use Swords Dance and then attach a Double Colorless on the next turn for 60 damage by turn 2. This is where Computer Search (for double colorless) and Energy Search (for grass) are also useful if you get unlucky with Energy draws.

The other Basics are more straightforward. Just attach Energy cards and hope for the best.

Using Computer Search or Item Finder for PlusPower can get you that little bit of extra bite that you need sometimes.

One big obstacle for this deck is the Legendary Birds carried by the Grand Masters since they are resistant to Fighting. Scyther and Electabuzz can wreck them before they get enough Energy. Gust of Wind and Energy Removal can help keep you safe.

Another obstacle is Mr. Mime's Pokemon Power -- Hitmonchan's Jab + Energy Removal can make quick work of that.
