This was pretty easy, I literally got first try and wasn't even paying attention to the BPM tapping, it's so dumb how people simply can't do simple things as pressing a button with good timing and start calling "speedrun strats" lol

I can't personally comment on the Metronome method, but I always just listened to the sounds Mario makes when stroking and adjusted my speed until they were consistent and fast. You know if you're on the right rhythm when you hear the long, proper one every time instead of the short one. That one means you were too fast. Get more out of your strokes rather than doing more. I think the most common problem is doing strokes too fast.
