Just a note that this didn't activate when I grabbed the 1up while already having 9 lives. So make sure to have 8 lives or less before attempting.

Translating an above comment for convenience, you need to airdash towards the gap with the 1-Up and fire a charged Strike Chain to pull the 1-Up towards you. This can even be done with the Health Energy still there.

I found a simpler technique. Just stick to the wall and do tiny jumps while trying to trigger the Strike Chain when MegaMan is in the center of the hole. I did it twice and really quickly

Air dash towards the wall and activating the chain through the wall worked for me
