I just got this on an even earlier version (retroarch 1.8.4) using Gambatte, so the achievement edits between 2018-2020 appear to have fixed the issue.

Didn't unlock with mgba core. Guess ill retry with a different one later.

Confirm that this does pop on the MGBA Core. Not sure if an update changed this as I downloaded this only in the last week and started playing again. My advice is to catch all the Unown as they unlock. You get:

ABCDEFGHIJK with the Kabuto Puzzle

LMNOPQR with the Omanyte Puzzle

STUVW with the Ho-Oh Puzzle

XYZ with the Aerodactyl Puzzle

Would also recommend using Turbo for this achievement, otherwise this might take a while due to all the encounters it takes to find them all.

One minor thing you can do to help with other achievements here: lead with a Pokemon that has one type immunity. Since the only move Unown uses is Hidden Power, you can determine very quickly what hidden power type an Unown has. It'll get off at least one move every time while you're tossing Pokeballs so you will guarantee confirm its type if the move has no effect on your lead.

I used a Dark type lead to find a HP Psychic Unown, but you can also lead with other type immune pokemon for the same effect. Some examples:

No effect on Ground: it's HP Lightning
No effect on Flying: it's HP Ground
No effect on Steel: it's HP Poison

Combined this with the Level ball batch order from Kurt. Collect a red apricorn every day and this achievement is a breeze. Didn't even really bother to segment the release of Unown, but I probably got really lucky with how quickly I came across each of them.

if you are using PKHex while playing this game you need to make sure not to catch any Unown until after you can catch all of them, because Hex will set your Unown Mode to maximum, and theres no setting for undoing that, because no one would ever need something like that

Mean look + Sleep makes this easier. They can take quite a few pokeballs sometimes even if theyre asleep, and they can run away.
