Best way to find the dogs for the 1st time (IMO) Fly to Mahogany, go west, lead with a level 30 > 40 Pokemon, use a repel, run in the grass until it runs out. If no dog, go to violet city, go west, same shtick. Repeat until you find it.

This was frustrating. Use Fast or Weight balls, or Level balls if your a high enough level, for the first one you catch and the Master ball for the second.

These guys were the worst...and when I say these guys I mean Raikou. lol Entei was fine. After activating the dogs in the Burned Tower I located Entei in Route 38. I Caught him using a Haunter starting off with Mean Look then Hypnosis. He woke up several times but he never roared me. I eventually caught him with a Great Ball. Raikou to fricken foreeeever. Unlike Entei, Raikou roared. He liked to roar a lot. It took over 5 hours to catch him in the only Ultra Ball that I had.

Oh and did I mention that I was doing this achievement set alongside the Professor Oak Challenge set, meaning I had to catch these dogs before I did the fourth gym. So no fly. No Max Repel. And the only Ultra Balls I had were the couple that I found on the ground. Oh and I had to catch these guys twice. Once for this set and again for the POC set, so I had to have a back up save from before I catch either dog.

Funny thing was as soon as I caught them here, I loaded up my backup save (which was right after I activated the dogs but before leaving the Burned Tower). I headed west into Route 38 and immediately found Raikou and I caught him, then I headed east and south into Route 37 and immediately found Entei and caught him. :P

I swear all my luck seems to go into the Professor Oak Challenges whenever I play them alongside the core sets. lol

With the Reddit strat this took me literally 20 minutes. I think I had unreal luck, using a total of under 15 Ultra Balls between the two.

Dont make the same mistake as me...

So if you gonna hunt for the first time Raikou and Entei. Use an level 30 - 39 Pokemon. Go to the west of Maghony Town. Use repel en try to find Raikou or Entei. If you didnt see him fly back to the Pokemon center in Maghony town and walk back west. This is an pretty common spot for the doggos.

I used the shiny Gyarados for this one.

Also its recommended to save the master ball for Raikou (if you not going for the Raikou achievement). Mainly because of he's speed. For Entei use Haunter or Jinx around the level 40. Use mean look and Hypnosis/sing to put entei to sleep. Try to false swipe it if you have an Scyther or Farfetch'd. It probally takes some time to catch Entei :)
