For Toad's: Stay in the slow lane, if you wipeout in last lap restart, use well the stars, ghosts and thunders, if you get a thunder and manage to get in first play it safe and use it at the end, settle for 2nd or 3rd if you couldn't get 1st

i genuinely want to know who at nintendo back in 1996 looked at the reversed version of Toad's Turnpike was like "oh HELL YEA baby, /SHIP THAT/"

I came here to rage about Toad's Turnpike and I knew I would not be alone. I generally tried to stay in the center and react left or right, get power ups only when its safe and pray for stars. I think one of the main problems is that if you fall behind the traffic doesn't seem to spawn for the racers off screen. So you continue to get pummeled while they pull away. Very luck based, but at least its the first track.

By the way my record for being run over in a row without being able to move is 5. And yes it happened 10 feet from the finish line on the final lap when I was in 1st place.

Ah, the memories
Restarting many times just because of Toad's Turnpike, ending up hitting a lot of traffic coming straight at you. You also got these rubber-banding AI who do anything to pass you, dropping bananas, or fake items everywhere. Once you're hit, good luck trying to catch up since the AI will go faster off screen and basically be invincible from traffic. It's all trial and error from here, and the rest is easy enough (Choco Mountain still kinda sucks though).
