There are two '?' blocks hidden in part 5-1. One is next to two rocks that are in the water, near the Jungle Village! Then you get this water and go down to the lower part of 5-1 through the waterfall, and find another block!

I checked everywhere in World 5, including the suggestions in the comments, but I'm still stuck at 33/34. I can only assume it might be something missable.

I pressed R+L at the same time, it shows how many items there are on the map! There is a spreadsheet that shows all the items on the map, it must be in the achievement of W1 or getting all the items.

I already checked the spreadsheet and made sure all areas where at 0 hidden items (even indoors just in case). Also got the TM from the comedy show and spoke to every NPC I could find. I'll probably return to it later but I just think I might have missed something or something didn't register when playing as Captain Toad.

Did you get the block at 5-1 that is near two rocks in the water and in front of the two gorilla guards protecting the Jungle Village?

Yes I checked that one and the others shared in the comments.

Eventually I found the one I missed, it was an item block at the upper left corner of the Safari map.

So I’m missing the hidden one stated on the spreadsheet in 5-2. There is no flower next to the blue toad.
Swear I’ve checked every tile twice now and still no luck
Any help?

@KlutchClem: I just got that one right now. Keep going right across the bridge until you can go right no more on the screen, it's that flower next to the trees. I don't know why the hell they said "near the blue toad" when they could have said "flower to the right of bridge next to blue toad" =\ These descriptions are honestly not super helpful. I get they don't want to outright spoil the location, but come on.....

Also, can someone elaborate more on the L+R thing? I've been trying that button combo since the very beginning, and for me, it only brings up the item register list shortcut, not an item list like everyone is claiming.....so some info on that would be nice.

I found it in the end

L+R activates the leaderboard. At the bottom right a number will show how many hidden items are in that area currently. You however find the item by just pressing A or confirm not with the shortcut itself

I'm having the same issue as Celestial. When I press L+R I also only get the register menu. I get no indication that a leaderboard was activated and no number in the bottom right.

If you win the wild battle with birch as Captain Toad, is it supposed to count towards the counter?

For anyone else that's struggling with this one, the last item I was missing was in 5-1. It wasn't too far from the one near the Kong guards obscured by the tree. If you follow that nearby river down south, it leads to a ? Block with an item. Hope this helps.

This one was my last achievement to badge the game, I was definitely getting frustrated and even started a new file to redo this part. Turns out that TM13, which I had already gotten from somewhere else in the game at some point, was what I was missing in the Safari Zone all along, I assumed since I had it in my TM Case that I had already found it in World 5. Go figure, LOL!
