Solve the 1st puzzle (Kabuto) and then catch 3 different shapes of Unown.

Then go to the Alph Lab just outside the area, you'll receive an upgrade to your Pokedex which allows you to view all the Unown's you've caught. To view your Unown Pokedex go to... Pokedex -> Press "Select" -> Unown Mode

My advice would be to catch as many Unown's as possible before moving onto the next puzzle. Each time you complete a puzzle it unlocks more Unown's, there's 4 puzzles you need to complete they are puzzles of "Kabuto, Ho-Oh, Charizard & Omanyte" You'll need "Surf" and "Strength" to access 2 of the puzzles through the Union Cave.

Take plenty of Ultra Balls with you and catch as many Unown's as possible before unlocking the next puzzle and then catch the new Unown's that have been unlocked and so forth.

Mark every Unown you've caught, that way you won't keep capturing the same ones over and over again. You just need to collect the alphabetical ones.. A-Z.. All 26 of them for the achievement to pop.

regardless of completing it as you go, the final one is reaaallly tedious. no avoiding it either, at 1/26 its less than 4% encounter rate. yikers

I have no idea if certain puzzles unlock specific Unowns, but this is what I observed in my playthrough:
Kabuto puzzle unlocked: A-K
Omanyte: L-R
Aerodactyl: S-W
Ho-Oh: X,Y,Z

Additional info, since Unowns can flee, I used my Jinx with Mean Look so I would catch each Unown, when first encountered. Without hunting for it again.
