Finally I’ve got it! This took a while. You can trade the star pieces while you collect them for the achievement, the game keeps track of the total at all times.

I’m currently stuck on 159/160 star pieces. Merluvlee says that she can’t find any, I’ve done all of Chuck Quizmo’s questions, Koopa Koot’s tasks, and bought them from Rip Cheato. I’m 99% positive that I’ve got all the letters, what could I be missing?

Just realized what I missed, the dolly in the prologue. This was a fun achievement nonetheless.

Merluvlee helps out a lot here! She helped me to find the three Star pieces I was missing in Yoshi’s Island. As for the other two she couldn’t find, it was the letters located in the desert trees I didn’t know about.

If you are down to one missing, check for the hidden letters that give a piece when delivered.

I ended up missing 7, Merluvlee helped me locate 3 missing pieces. I was confused where the other 4 were located, but didn't realize how many hidden letters I was actually missing. The missing four ended up being the hidden letters, I wish an achievement was made for those letters I had no idea! Wanted to share so it can help people in the future.

glad to have this done very time consuming knowing that some are hidden in panels you would never image to be there and 64 of them with quiz mini game have fun

Remember to check in with Rip Cheato, Quizmo, and Parakarry. Merluvlee will mention she can't sense anymore. That's because the Star Pieces are behind sidequests once she can no longer see them in the field

The out of sight ones for Parakarry is mail lost in trees.
-Dry Dry Desert (where you first meet Kolorado, which just happens to be my last one lol)
-The big tree in the Snowman area before Crystal Palace (hit at least three times)

Just realized I forgot to give Dolly to Goombaria and she left the village and wont accept it?
Is it missable? Or will she go back eventually? First time playing the game and Im at the beginning of Chapter 6 right now .....

It shouldn't be missable! Just return to Goomba Village and talk to her, you should still get the cheevo no problem

Adding the tale of my suffering with 159/160 pieces. Turns out my brain invented memories of giving Kolorado the artifact from Dry Dry Ruins. Didn't see anyone mention it, so figured I would.
