Remember, you also need to COMPLETE the bonus stages as well as gain access to them.

Can some of these 18 ups come from special stages or they must be the 18 ups from regular stages? I mean, the one in labyrinth 3 is just diabolical, I probably lost more than a hundred lives in that just training to get it without dying!

Special stage 1-ups do not count.

For the 1-up in Lab 3, I recommend trying to go into the level with a shield. That way you can damage boost out of the spike trap. (Stand next to the wall at the exit, face left, then jump. You'll get damaged out of the area.)

I hate that live on labyrinth zone act 3 too, because sometimes, sonic jumps then somehow he get killed by the spikes

the 1up in labyrinth act 3 i found if you pick up momentum run and tap jump. ive died in jungle boss, jungle act 2, bridge boss, no where is safe in this game. the guns in sky base.

just got this one. took 4 attempts. first one i died jungle 1, 2nd i lost shield in labyrinth, 3rd attempt game refused to give bubble in labyrinth 1. 4th attempt success. when you clear labyrinth act 3 the nerves kick in almost died in sky base.
