Serris is easy using the video strategy. The core is best managed with a circular pattern where you hit it with a missile, jump very high over it when it comes in toward you low, then run under it when it chases the arc of your jump upwards. The first jump is the hardest part, once you have it going in a circle it is predictable.

I can't see the video above, but following advice of Ethelmord and Jazerus above it's not too hard. I'll add this bit; get Serris to transform into Core-X in the bottom right corner just as it emerges from the floor, then when the transformation is happening move left and wait for it to come to you, hit it once and begin the circular pattern. I think it was then easiest hitting it when it was at the top of the circular pattern. Trial and error, see what works best for you :)

As soon as you give the last hit before converting to the virus, go to the platforms where you can evade it quite easily, you have enough time to do it after the 5th hit.

Woo! Got it!! Don't be afraid of this one. It's not as daunting as it initially seems. And while the video provided shows a safe spot, it can be very time consuming to wait if you're going for a speed run. Here's the method I used:
- Use charge beam, not missiles!
- To begin, get up on the platforms out of the water. Your target zone is the 3rd set of blocks from the left. Stay put and charge.
- The first hit is free. He will zig-zag, then come in from the top left to right. Charge and fire to the right as he passes over. Every single time.
- The instant you hit him, jump up and grab the ceiling. Your safe spot is above that 3rd set of blocks and you want to hang at the very left edge of the grey vent/turbine. You will not get hit.
- The one exception to this is predictable. If he does his zig-zag weave pattern, he's quickly going up high after. If you see the zig-zag, drop down, wait for him to pass over, then jump back up.
- Once he goes back to normal speed, hang in your safe spot.
- If you get the timing down you can shoot him as he passes around. The sure thing is when you see the zig-zag weave, drop and shoot him as he flies over, just like the first shot.
- Should be done with 3 solid hits from the charge beam.
- For the Core-X, stay on the platforms.
- Get your first shot in as it initially takes form, jump a platform away, then quickly turn back and jump over it as it swoops down to hit you.
- Jump away a platform, turn and shoot as it stops flashing.
- Jump away a platform, jump over, turn, shoot, repeat...

Really not that hard as it seems, I killed serris using safe spot in the linked video, then quickly go to the platforms above and jump over the x-core while fireing missiles

Ok so here's my recommendation for dealing with the Core-X:
- Following the strategy shown in the video, kill Serris when he's passing the far left side of the screen, then immediately beeline onto the second platform from the left
- Jump to avoid the Core-X flying toward you from off-screen
- Get into a loop of doing full jumps over it going back and forth between two platforms. It's hard to describe and hard to pull off until you have a feel for it
- Fire missiles whenever you can and pray

Never try to go under the Core-X, this is a very bad idea and has cost me many runs. It's always safer to jump over it in my experience.
