The Toyota GT-One Road Car is easily the best for this, as you can adjust the rear downforce on the car, whilst maintaining a pretty consistent top end.

I used the special colour NSX Type S Zero that you win from MR Amateur, with an oil change and medium-hards. Really nice car-track pairing, the NSX can take sector 1 flat-out with the correct line, and if you manage its weight properly, you can really throw it into corners while using the throttle to restore rear grip. The Type R has higher rear grip and might be a better choice than the Type S Zero, but its special colour variant is a bit more difficult to obtain, as it's a roulette prize from Type R Meeting Amateur.

Completed 76 laps (alternating between 6 and 7-lap stints) with consistent 1:31 - 1:32's (fastest lap: 1:30.952), while the opponent NSX completed 73 laps. You can reset the line-up until the NSX isn't there for an easier race, but it makes the race more interesting if it's there IMO.

Finished with 74 laps with the gold RX7 I got from the American Championship, ran with hard tires as well. Lap times were 1:34-1:33 while doing around 13 lap stints.
