Yea I know I stumbled on vertical and I also counted them, even the one that I stumbled like 2 times in a row, I counted it as 3 touch.

Took me about 30 minutes or so of attempts. Maybe around 45 I think?
A lot of people like to overblow things out of proportion and make it seem like hell, this isn’t NEARLY as bad as some make it sound..
But that’s just me.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2298928858 here is a almost perfect run and I only touched those barrel like 30 times in total so this achievement is very easy for me now after so many tries, the only problem is that is it bugged as hell, go in the video and check at 1:51, you'll see how it goes up really crazy.

Just got it but it was mostly because I got lucky that most of those vertical one gave me less that th other tries, I think going extremely fast on them make the bug less time to happen fast so it help, this was a very easy challenge but insanely hard just because of how buggy it was, so buggy that it drave me insane and maybe made the dev to hate me (Or maybe not but I feel like I was annoying because of how insane that achievement made me) but is it not that achievement that would make me hate the dev, that dev is still 1 of the best dev I know on RA, not going to hate him just because of 1 achievement, lol. but sorry darky if it annoyed you, it's this achievement's fault.

Jank af achievement that relies more on luck than skill. If a mechanic is bugged or cant calculate the touches well, then dont make an achievement out of it. I think it would've been more fair if you reused the 10 sec achievement from Sonics level, just instead of rails you put gravity barrels.

Saying it relies on luck more than skill is something I couldn't disagree more, I had to learn a lot ways to skip a lot of the barrels, and the sttuterings happens in some specific parts, not the the game deciding when it wants to. what annoyed me is the achievement not saying that touching the same barrel counts + I didn't A rank this before doing it so I didn't have much experience with the level

Yea, same, this achievement is really fun, that's why I did not gave up on it and was continuing trying to earn it but is it very bugged, but I would still do this again than doing chao grind if it was not bugged, lol.

So I found the secend section made me jump up like 5 points or more just walking over from one vertical to another after I found that was messing me up it was kinda easy think I had like 6 touches left. Probably helps I've played this game to death so if your having trouble try and do a short hop to the next if you find the studder spot and spin dash jump as best as you can I think 8 in the first section is perfect I think couldn't get lower then that

This might actually be the worst thing I ever attempted on this site.
An achievement should not rely on a mechanic so buggy and prone to failure.
There have been moments where I simply land on a barrel (not even the part where 2 barrels are touching) and the challenge indicator skyrockets from around 13 to failure.
I would submit a ticket for this but I know the achievement is technically working "as intended." It's just that "as intended" still means it's a buggy, barely functioning mess. If there was a way to make the logic ignore extra steps for, like, 3 frames at a time, I feel like that would fix a lot of the problems.

I finally managed to get it not an hour after I posted that comment.
Still doesn't change my opinion on it whatsoever. I genuinely don't know what I did differently on my successful run, but I had 3 touches to spare by the end of it.
Regardless, this is over with and I finally have the game re-mastered. Please, whoever ends up dev'ing the SA2B set, do not bring this one over.

Did it with just 37/38 touched. It was a clutch, but after enough practice with Final Chase. It was finally managed

did it after about 2 hours with 37/38 (blaze pfp number i guess lol.) did this feel absolutely euphoric to accomplish? yes. did i feel like i did anything much different from all my other attempts? not really, pretty much every run was identical to my winning run, just got a bit luckier/had better speed i guess with the vertical barrels
