On top of being invisible, the two secret coin blocks are positioned one block up from the ground so bowser needs to touch an enemy once to shrink. If you die, the game keeps your coins and doesn't reset them to zero, but the tracker for the achievement will reset, so keep an eye on the actual achievement unlocking and not your coin count as you will exceed 12 in that case
