one thing I did that worked was i stood on the edge of the corner of the box that contained the switch a few steps earlier, jumped and at the height of the jump, did a Tornado, then homed to one of the walls and then just jumped my way over, then held B to jump off the wall and hit the booster

How am I supposed to consistently get that height? I try countless times to combine triangle jump and tornado but it just don't go. The first time I got it, it was purely accidental as when doing homing attack Shadow just got a huge amount of vertical height on the wall for no clear reason, but I can't replicate that.

Ok I think the intended way to go for that turtle part is to simply do a homing attack when the turtle is turned upside down, the extra impulse from the attack will be more than enough to do a tornado and reach the dash ring. Waaay easier then trying to triangle dive the wall.

I'm sad... I just did it but as I approached the end, the icon on the bottom right was missing, either my retroachievements didn't activate or I somehow messed up the achievement. I have to do this all over again... :(

I heard this achievement was an absolute pain to get but it's honestly not that hard. I was expecting some grueling button inputs to get past areas but the only real challenge was getting the game to not jank out on me. I even completed this achievement twice in one week.

It's actually easier than it looks. All you need is to hold A (jump) button after a Black Tornado and Shadow will act as if he was normally jumping, gaining more height naturally. Work in any form of Black Tornado and not only these after killing enemies. The hardest part is to gather the 480 rings as you may miss all if directly homming attacking some spear badniks.
