In the interest of comprehensiveness, I tested this with every badge. Here is the full list of banned badges: Power Rush, Power Rush P, Last Stand, Last Stand P, Mega Rush, Mega Rush P, Close Call, Close Call P. All others are allowed.

If anyone's still curious about strategies, I mostly got by on Heart Finder and Flower Finder. You get a lot more use out of those than the Happy badges, especially since field hearts heal both Mario and his partner.

Anyone having trouble wait until you are right before chapter 8, and have done all the side quests/cooking/badge lvl 30, maxed out side characters etc.

I personally was around lvl 24 went into the pit and made it to lvl 80 to get all the badges, but mainly to get bigger backpack and the badge that allows instant kill for low levels help ease the grind to backtrack secrets/cooking farming.

By the time I did all the side quests I could before chapter 8, the pit was only really hard around lvl 80-100 but even then just play it safe and use movers if you can, just make sure you don't skip the 70,80,90 chest.

As for badges I legit just stock piled on power plus and defense, heart flower and flower finder was a huge help for me. Spike shield is a game changer for most enemies.

Make sure you can kill the Amazee Dayzees for huge exp! Leveling up is free healing and more BP

Also I somehow got health bingo x3 and flower bingo once on the final floor. Lucky me!

Check what monsters are after floor 50 or so and equip badges/partners as needed.

Otherwise listen to TrashCity; good advice there.

those last 15 floors or so are absolutely brutal...this is honestly the perfect amount of challenge if you have a good set-up and a LOT of items + double dip, if you don't though? Good luck, I had all that with max hp 30, max fp 35, and max bp 66 and still barely made it through.

My strategy wasn't so different from those above -- basically any badges that save FP somehow and offensive buffs. I wouldn't even go down there without Spike Shield (which you can swap out for something better on the last 10 floors to try to keep yourself alive). Life Shrooms and Wacka Bumps can take you far. Spending coins to heal up at the vendor is more than worth it.

Something I didn't try, but I assume would work really, really well is to stock up on multiple Multibounces from the Pianta Parlor and use that in conjunction with FP Savers, Jumpman, All or Nothing, Spike Shield, and offensive buffing badges. Combine that with an offensively buffed + FP savers partner who can attack multiple enemies, and you'll wreck all the enemies before they even touch you. Just don't forget to Tattle whatever you're missing.

In a pickle, Flurrie is great for blowing away hoards of enemies with her gale attack. It works quite well on the last 10 floors when all the Wizzerds gang up on you.

also, if you're mastering this set you should have a good number of whacka bumps, a few of any honey/maple/jelly ultra, a few other okay recipes. make good use of them here, extremely useful for this

Not sure if this is a good strategy definitely has risks but this is what I did. I basically just used Lucky Day, 2x Charge, 1 Def Plus, 2 Flower Savor, 2 Happy flower, 1 Happy Heart, 1 Happy Heart P (useless imo), Jumpman, Lucky Start, Power Bounce, 2x Power Plus, 2x Pretty Lucky, Spike Shield. Don't use Zap Tap, it's useless and idk if you need spike shield or not I doubt it but I wasn't risking with Jumpman. My strategy was to use Goombella to give Mario Extra turns and spam charge. Once she was almost dead I just alternated partners until they were low and kept them in front so they would take the hit. Strategy is a little risky because if you get confused you risk one shotting your partner and losing your charge stacks (happened to me) and almost lost because of it. Make sure to bring heals, that's the other thing I used the partner for just healing mario, didn't really worry about the partner until it was the last partner I had. Make sure you go through your badges after floor 99 since you won't want the same ones. (Also probably don't need Lucky Start) Since it only lasts the first two turns. Best of luck

Cool achievement! Think this def. fits into the spirit of this main set nicely as the biggest challenge (if the powerbounce one was moved to a subset eventually)

It becomes impossible if you've already defeated bonetail as it does not respawn.

Lost my first run in the last 10 floors to 5 Elite Wizzerds, and took a break for a few days. Came back more prepared with items this time, got to the 95th floor, and was surprised to see a mover there. He took me right to Bonetail, and it was simple from there. I am forever grateful to that mover.
