if you're having a pain with this like i was for an hour, try using link's up+b and positioning yourself well. if you can get yourself into center-stage a few times and land his up+b, it should spread them out enough to get some of them dead. may take a few tries.

you can also try planking. very hard to do it frame-perfect enough to make them fall while trying to get you, but i did get 3 KOs doing so. ganondorf is the best for planking, but i was doing it with dr. mario because im used to planking with him the most in melee. (planking is just grabbing ledge, falling, and jumping back to ledge fast enough to re-grab it so you're invulnerable)

I managed it with Kirby! Run to one side of the arena when the match starts, jump off and float back in a curve, then drop down on the bunched-up wireframes with Stone. Make a break for the other side of the arena while they recover, then rinse and repeat.

Roy can do this with his up B. The description says "more than 5" but actually it's "5 or more". Triggers at 5th KO when you are still playing.
