If like me you did the fishing pond as soon as it was available, the sinking lure seems to need to coral earring upgrade to your bobber fishing pole before you can get it.

Not only that, but you have to catch three of the five fish types before you can fish it up. You need to catch a Greengill, an Ordon Catfish and a Hylian Pike. If you haven't been doing any bobber fishing at all, you can catch these in the small pond behind the sign that tells people not to litter because fish are crying.

I also recommend using bee larvae for bait. There's a bee hive behind Hena's hut you can pull down with the clawshot and smash open with your sword. Just...beware of bee stings.

Hey all, sorry to be that person, but y'all know the exact place I need to be for this? Been trying for about 2 hours and I feel like my luck can't be that rubbish. I've read everywhere from the hole itself next to the sign to where you get other junk items to the far east and southern spot. I know it's luck based, but I figured I'd ask considering it's a 3 point achievement.

(For context, yes, I do have the coral earring and have been using bait on almost every single cast of the lure. I have gotten almost 200 Ordon catfish since starting this, and over 200 Hyrule bass.)

Jack make sure you have caught the three fish while in the boat (Greenhill, Catfish , Pike) and go behind the hut and cast facing the waterfall and you should catch it.

Do you need to catch the fish in the boat and then go for the sinking lure in the same session in order for it to appear?

Don't think so but I think you do need the coral hook to be able to catch it
