Found this one absolute horrible to do. You have only a split second to hit A to grab him.

If you're right next to him maybe, but if you're farther away then you have all the time in the world to hit the A button.

This was actually way easier than I feared. You can lead him to the edge of the platform, stab him in the stomach and immediately throw him when he curls into a ball. Since you’re close to the edge you can throw him in the lava. He will then jump up and land next to you again and you can repeat the process two more times. I never took off the iron boots during this.
Also if you do get hit by accident, jump into the lava and the fight (and achievement) will reset.

Do as @AMZero says. Important note, you have to press and HOLD A, not just press it. Took me a minute to figure that out 😅

Positioning is important for this one. Face AWAY from the edge. That way, when you turn around to throw him in the lava, he actually goes in the lava. I flubbed this one because I just threw him across the arena, but it wasn't far enough for him to go in the lava.

In addition to the other tips, aimlocking will slow down Link's movement which might make it harder to get closer to him for the spin attack

While the L-Target was good for lining up the camera towards him and for running away with jumps without the Boots if I needed a bit more space, between the slower movement mentioned above and serious grab prompt jank (sometimes I didn't even get A prompt despite being right in front of him for a full second), it also fucked up EVERYTHING ELSE I wanted to do.

The moment I decide to just hit him without L-Targeting until I need to grab him, I get this "first try" without even needing the spin. If you're having issues despite all the above advice, try just not L-Targeting the entire time and see what happens.

This took me an embarrassing amount of tries. I had an easier time with the boss, and I did both of those achievements at once
