Either the logic or the description for this achievement needs to be altered. Saving the game (even without dying) increments the same memory address as the number of continues used, so saving the game in any way will fail this achievement. What the achievement as is is really asking for is "beating the game without getting a game over."

My protip for this one is just capitalize on the fact that the game isn't TERRIBLY hard until the second half. If you can grab the raft and the boots and get inside Palace 5, there's a spot you can grind Moas quickly enough to gain an extra life every ten minutes or so. Get a surplus of lives here and then you can go through the path to the Great Palace and face Thunderbird without worry of getting a game over.

I grinded up so many lives but I still had so many left when I succeeded... Well, better safe than sorry I suppose. Most(all?) of my deaths came in that damn valley leading up to the last dungeon.

My advice for that valley by the way, is, if you have the lives to spend, use Fairy and let die on purpose to refill your magic. It's better than thinking you'll be okay without it and falling in a pit by accident when you still have full magic.

Skip the Forced Encounter on the Valley (Lure the Bloob Sprites to that Tile). Use the Spell Magic against the Moas and Floating Eyes and than its not to hard to reach Great Palace.

Best and most rewarding Cheevo of this Set.

Took me maybe 3-4 Hours to complete the Game. It‘s a NES Game. This means its short/not very long. Look up a All Keys Speedrun. Helps really with Routing and to handle with Enemies and Bosses.

Question:
Don't you sometimes play 6-8 hours straight? If I have free Time, sometimes I play many Hours, of course only my eyes can handle it and don't start to burn.
It is important to take breaks during this time.
Close your Eyes for 5 Minutes get some Water/Soda and eat a little to refresh your Mind and Blood Sugar. Move around a bit and do some exercises.

A Game popular like this should not be a free Mastery.

I totally would welcome a No Death Achievement for this. No Joke. If other Sets have them i would put it here as well.

Does this still unlock in New Game + if the first quest death counter was greater than zero? There have been quite a few achievement edits since it was last confirmed.

I know there are some who are set in stone with this one, but is there any way to have the logic separate the saves from the deaths, so one can get through the game in multiple sessions, instead of one giant one, like the first Zelda game? Some of us only have a couple hours at most each time we play.

Agreed with the other comments, you should be allowed to save and quit so we can pick this up at any time. I can't up+a to save or else the cheev will fail, which is unlike the zelda 1 set. This is pretty stressful when starting the game and you want to get as many cheevs as possible without having to do multiple playthroughs to get them all.

Although from looking at this it seems as though they want you to do this cheev in NG+ to get it.
