A good tip for fighting this if you don't wanna deal with the two plants he cuts down during the beginning is to mash the skip button when entering the room, for some reason it makes it so he doesn't cut them down, at least that's what happened with me

Could not get the plants to not spawn. Did you skip the video. What is the escape button A B ?

Anyway I did it with kill the plants. Still quite easy. Just make sure you attack him with jump slashes. I believe 7 or 8 and hes down.

Just a little tip: if you perform a jump attack, and then spin the control stick before you land, you'll do a quick spin. Makes this a cake walk!

I found that the spin attack combo is a bit too unresponsive to land so consistently. I think it's easier to just focus on the jump attacks.

But the logic is that you should hit the totem pole as the boomerang is flying the first time, this knocks him off and then use only jump attacks. Do this again for the second throw, and he's done. So that's why if he throws it twice before you ever knock him off, you've already failed unless you pull off that combo, which I'm assuming kills him in one round or something.
