Just a reminder to everyone that the REFLECT spell will help against his fireballs! I felt kind of stupid for not realising this sooner...

Failed a few times the day before, then when I started the session I got this, I got all the extra lives in the overworld I could to hopefully get to this boss with as many of them as possible, and... I got it on my second attempt...

I think Jazmataz shows off how useful the reflect spell is when many don't think to use it lol.

In addition to using REFLECT, I recommend hugging the right side of the screen. If you're all the way to the right, Thunderbird VERY RARELY hits you (but can still hit you). At the very least, you will get a few seconds to breathe. Use plenty of emulator pause to see fireball trajectories.

I think I had a lot more trouble with Rebonack or Helmethead than this, reflect was useless until the time it actually saved me once and I could kill him, see it as an insurance, best to fight him on the right side.

I'm pretty sure this might be glitched... When I went into the fight both the dark link and thunderbird icons lit up and when I took damage the link dark icon went away so I think you might be able to get hit once but I didn't test that theory out as I had a few more lives left and was worried if it didn't pop I was going to have to re-do the whole run. Of course in my single setting beat the game session I did it on the first try without getting hit or even hearing the clink on the shield lol.

I originally did this without the Reflect spell a few months ago simply cus I didn't think about it..

But I was struggling to do it again on the GBA port and tried Reflect.. WOW it saved my rearend big time..

Yea, not sure what was going on, but I must have accidentally screwed this up last month. I don't even remember editing it to be honest... Anyway, it's fixed now

Easiest way to do this one:
1. Cast Reflect (probably not necessary)
2. Cast Jump
3. Go all the way to the right side of the screen
4. Cast Thunder on the boss
5. Stay on the right side, but face left
6. Now just jump and slash away at the boss. Fireballs don't hit you at all.
