If you already did this without Yoshi you can collect many coins on Delfino Airstrip, get the 8 coins Shine and go back with the amount you got... if you already beated the game oc

You can just pause and exit the area and you'll also keep the coins. And if you collect 100 by mistake, you can keep paying the boat and leaving until under, then collecting coins again.
