Yeah I did what you did in the video. I squish all of the ones he spawns at the same time and I keep getting only two 1ups. Oh well, I'll keep screwing around with it.

For everyone commenting here, please follow timenoe's first comment here. I can guarantee it's a lot easier. Yeah, it requires perfect timing, but IS MUCH EASIER.

I FINALLY got this after nearly 2 hours. The issue I was having is that the hover jets don't seem to properly hit the Stus if they are below you but off screen. I think their collision bugs out. If you do what timenoe did in the video by moving under Boo as he spits the Stus out (which causes them to clump near the center of the screen), sideflip over them, and then hover spray them while they are closer to the center of the view and not off screen, it works perfectly. Got it first try doing that.

I keep getting all of them flipped, ground pound, and only 1 or 2 1ups, is there a specific technique needed to get 3 to spawn? It seems to spawn better the closer to the ground I am on the pound

So got it to work by staying close to boo when he spawns them, they all cluster much better that way, I then got far enough to turn around and jump wide spray a bunch at them to make them all flip at once, then ground pounded towards the middle. they were fairly close but in a circular way, not a line. Also, if you don't get the stus, you can run into the cent to reset the slot machine.

Here's some tips if you plan to do it in the first Secret Level:

1) Walk straight ahead and let yourself get hit by a Stu, the knockback will be minimal and you'll only be pushed a bit backwards. This allows two Stus to follow you already and if you stay close to them, eventually the third one will follow you too.

2) Walk slowly so no stu loses track of you, if you go too fast one Stu might stop following you.

3) When all three of them are as close as possible, flip them by using the hover nozzle, less risk of launching them to the abyss this way.

4) Try to make the ground pound land on all three of them at the same time. I found that if my ground pound landed on two Stus, even if all three were killed, only two 1-Ups appeared. This is why getting them as close as possible is so important.

I just did this first try by luring a stu towards me and then hovering around it, then luring the other two and hovering around them again. Surprised to see any complaints, this was super easy

How do you even get this in the secret level? I only getting 2 1 ups, never 3

From what I've gathered, you get a 1-up from the Stu you stomped specifically. That means if you want 3 you have to actually stomp 3 Stus at once. If you're doing it via the Hotel Secret method I suggest you try to pile them up in a pyramid shape so you can stomp in the middle and hit all of them

Is there a trick to getting the stus to spawn, or am I literally supposed to sit here stomping purple squares and rolling the slot machine 50 times until I get the right RNG?

Do not throw fruit at King Boo. Just persevere until the original enemy appears. And then do the same thing like in the video

I just wanna put my two cents, I spent over half an hour trying to get Stus to spawn in on King Boo, he was only spawning the flaming ones for me, maybe I'm just extremely unlucky and I had a much easier time doing this in the secret in Episode 2

I got it ever easy with the hotel secret start, if you mess up just fall off and it doesn't matter because you gain an extra life.

All you have to do is grab the two attention, side hop to grab the 3rd attention. Side hop back in from of the 3 stus then if you want to get them all together you can side hop in from of the 3 stus then just ground pound in the middle. It took me about 6 or 7 tries to get it.

+1 on changing the video, I waited 15 minutes trying to get King Boo to get Stus on the roulette wheel only to immediately get it first try when I went to do it in Hotel Lobby secret instead
