Are we supposed to have the Red Water of Life for this to unlock or the Letter? I have the Magical Sword, Magic Shield, 16 bombs, red rings, silver arrows, & all other items & upgrades (Red Water of Life too) and this did not unlock yet.

This achievement has been changed into "boomerang amateur". The "fully upgraded" achievements has been fixed.

Just come back to the place you found it. Normally, it should unlock.

Actually i was using Nestopia core, which i read doesn't do achievements, so i switched to FCEUmm (?sp) and started getting achievements, including this one.

I missed this on my first RA playthrough of this game. I rushed right through the room forgetting the wooden boomerang even existed and by the time I noticed I missed it I was in level 9 and already had the magical boomerang anyway.
